대구대학교는 지난 22일 퓨리오사AI와 ‘AI 반도체 전문 인재 양성 및 지역 산업 생태계 활성화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약을 통해 양 기관은 기술 연구와 전문 인력 공급이 유기적으로 연계되는 선순환 구조를 구축하고, AI 반도체 분야의 경쟁력 강화를 도모한다는 방침이다.

협약에 따라 대구대학교는 교내 반도체교육원(원장 김경기)을 중심으로 퓨리오사AI의 기술 수요를 반영한 주문식 교육과정과 기업연구실을 운영한다. 이를 통해 이론 중심 교육을 넘어, 실제 팹리스 산업 현장에서 즉시 활용 가능한 실무 역량을 갖춘 인재를 양성하는 데 주력할 계획이다.

파트너사인 퓨리오사AI는 고성능·저전력 AI 추론용 NPU(신경망처리장치) 분야에서 독보적인 기술력을 보유한 선도 기업으로 평가받고 있다. 양 기관의 이번 협력은 대학의 교육 인프라와 기업의 혁신 기술이 결합된 실효성 있는 산학협력 모델로 자리매김할 것으로 기대를 모은다.
