이번 협약은 포항시 핵심 전략산업의 고도화와 지역 기업의 성장을 체계적으로 지원하기 위해 마련됐다. 협약식에는 이강덕 포항시장과 황병우 iM금융그룹 회장을 비롯해 양 기관 주요 관계자들이 참석해 지역 산업 발전을 위한 협력 의지를 확인했다.

특히 이번 협약에는 iM뱅크, iM증권, iM라이프, iM캐피탈 등 iM금융그룹 산하 10개 전 계열사가 모두 참여해 눈길을 끌었다. iM금융그룹은 각 계열사가 보유한 금융, 투자, 증권, 자산운용, 핀테크 역량을 결집해 포항 지역 기업에 최적화된 맞춤형 금융 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.
