【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=계명대학교(총장 신일희) 영어교육학과 김신혜 교수가 교원양성기관 교육과정 개선과 예비교원 역량 강화를 이끈 공로를 인정받아 교육부장관 표창을 수상했다.

김 교수는 2018년부터 약 8년간 사범대학장과 교육대학원장 등을 역임하며 예비교원의 교육역량과 인성 함양을 위한 교육체계 개선을 주도해 왔다. 교원양성기관의 질적 성장을 목표로 교육과정 혁신과 학교 현장 연계를 지속적으로 추진하며 중등 교원양성의 방향성을 제시해 왔다는 평가를 받는다.

특히 김 교수는 2024년 7월 1일부터 2025년 6월 30일까지 교육부 교원양성기관 개선대학 지원 사업인 「교실혁명을 선도하는 KACT 예비교사 양성사업단」의 사업단장을 맡아 사업을 이끌었다. 인공지능 디지털교과서(AIDT) 기반 교육과정과 교과목 개선을 추진하고, 현장 연계 교과·비교과 프로그램을 운영해 예비교원의 디지털 활용 역량과 현장적응역량, 창의융합역량 제고에 기여했다.

또한 2022 개정 영어과 교육과정 및 성취기준 개발 연구에 참여해 개정 교육과정이 학교 현장과 예비교원 양성과정에 효과적으로 반영될 수 있도록 하는 데도 힘을 보탰다.

김신혜 교수는 이화여자대학교 영어교육과를 졸업하고 서울대학교에서 석사학위를, 미국 텍사스주립대학교에서 영어교육학 박사학위를 취득했다. 팬코리아영어교육학회 회장과 전국교육대학원장협의회 회장을 역임하는 등 학계와 교원양성 분야에서 활발한 활동을 이어왔으며, 현재 계명대학교 영어교육학과 교수로 재직 중이다.

김 교수는 “예비교원이 학교 현장에서 즉시 역량을 발휘할 수 있도록 교육과정과 실습 체계를 개선하는 데 주력해 왔다”며 “이번 표창을 계기로 디지털 전환 시대에 부합하는 교원양성 모델을 더욱 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

Professor Kim Shin-hye of Keimyung University Receives Minister of Education Award for Contributions to Teacher Training Innovation

Professor Kim Shin-hye of the Department of English Education at Keimyung University (President Shin Il-hee) received the Minister of Education Award in recognition of her contributions to improving the curriculum of teacher training institutions and strengthening the capabilities of prospective teachers.

Professor Kim has served as Dean of the College of Education and Dean of the Graduate School of Education for approximately eight years since 2018, spearheading educational system improvements aimed at fostering the educational capabilities and character of prospective teachers. She is recognized for her consistent pursuit of curriculum innovation and linking it with school settings, aiming for qualitative growth in teacher training institutions, and for setting the direction for secondary teacher training.

Notably, Professor Kim served as the Project Director of the "KACT Pre-service Teacher Training Project: Leading Classroom Revolution," a Ministry of Education program supporting university improvement efforts at teacher training institutions, from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. She promoted the improvement of curricula and subjects based on the Artificial Intelligence Digital Textbook (AIDT) and operated field-linked curricular and extracurricular programs, contributing to the enhancement of prospective teachers' digital capabilities, field adaptability, and creative convergence capabilities.

She also participated in the development of the 2022 revised English curriculum and achievement standards, contributing to the effective implementation of the revised curriculum in schools and in prospective teacher training programs.

Professor Kim Shin-hye graduated from Ewha Womans University's Department of English Education, earned a master's degree from Seoul National University, and a doctorate in English Education from the University of Texas. She has been actively involved in academia and teacher training, serving as president of the Pan-Korea English Education Association and president of the National Association of Deans of Graduate Schools of Education. She is currently a professor in the Department of English Education at Keimyung University.

Professor Kim stated, “We have focused on improving the curriculum and practical training system so that prospective teachers can immediately demonstrate their capabilities in the school setting,” and added, “With this award as an opportunity, we will further develop a teacher training model suited to the digital transformation era.”
