【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도의회  Post-APEC 전략실현 연구회(대표의원 정경민)는 7일 경상북도 보건환경연구원에서 ‘Post-APEC 전략실현 연구회 세미나’를 열고, APEC 이후 경북의 지속가능한 발전 전략을 논의했다.

이번 세미나에는 정경민 대표의원을 비롯한 연구회 소속 도의원들과 경상북도 APEC 준비지원단, 문화체육관광국, 경주시 포스트에이펙본부, 경상북도문화관광공사 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석했다.

첫 번째 발표자로 나선 모노플레인 정관호 대표는 ‘Post-APEC’을 주제로 메가 이벤트가 지역에 미치는 기대 효과와 한계, 2025 APEC의 파급 효과, MICE 산업의 향후 방향성, 경북의 Post-APEC 과제 등을 중심으로 발표하며, APEC 이후 경상북도가 나아가야 할 중·장기 전략을 제시했다.

이어 두 번째 발표를 맡은 경북대학교 이경용 교수는 Post-APEC, 지속가능한 지자체 디자인을 위한 경북의 의식과 과제를 주제로 5E(Exploration, Enjoyment, Empty Zone, Exchange, Economy) 개념을 설명하며, 도내 22개 시·군의 지속가능한 브랜딩과 지역 정체성 강화를 강조했다.

자유토론 시간에는 ▲Post-APEC에 대한 정부 차원의 지속적인 관심 필요성 ▲지역 연계 관광 콘텐츠 개발을 통한 시·군 동반 성장 방안 ▲도내 4개 컨벤션 시설의 효율적 활용 방안 ▲APEC 스토리텔링을 접목한 관광·상품 개발 필요성 등 다양한 의견이 제시되며 활발한 논의가 이어졌다.

세미나를 주관한 정경민 대표의원은 “이번 세미나는 Post-APEC의 중요성에 대한 공감대를 형성하고 단계별 전략 방향을 모색하는 뜻깊은 자리였다”며 “APEC이 남긴 유산을 지속가능하게 설계하기 위한 출발점으로, 앞으로 연구회 차원에서 다양한 이해관계자와의 협력 기반을 확대하고 Post-APEC 전략 실현을 위한 정책적 지원 방안을 지속적으로 모색해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, Post-APEC 전략실현 연구회는 정경민 대표의원을 비롯해 김대일, 김대진, 김일수, 김진엽, 박규탁, 연규식, 이선희, 이춘우, 최병근, 최병준 의원과 외부 전문가 정관호 대표 등 총 12명으로 구성돼 있다.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Holds 'Post-APEC Strategy Implementation Research Group' Seminar

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council's Post-APEC Strategy Implementation Research Group (Representative Council Member Jeong Gyeong-min) held a 'Post-APEC Strategy Implementation Research Group Seminar' at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Health and Environment Research Institute on the 7th to discuss Gyeongsangbuk-do's sustainable development strategy after APEC.

Approximately 40 people attended the seminar, including Representative Council Member Jeong Gyeong-min, members of the research group, and representatives from the Gyeongsangbuk-do APEC Preparation Support Team, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gyeongju City Post-APEC Headquarters, and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Organization.

The first presenter, Monoplane CEO Jeong Gwan-ho, presented on the topic of 'Post-APEC'. He focused on the expected and limited impact of mega-events on the region, the ripple effects of the 2025 APEC, the future direction of the MICE industry, and Gyeongsangbuk-do's post-APEC challenges. He also proposed mid- to long-term strategies for Gyeongsangbuk-do to pursue after APEC.

Professor Lee Kyung-yong of Kyungpook National University, who presented the second session, explained the concept of 5E (Exploration, Enjoyment, Empty Zone, Exchange, Economy) on the topic of Gyeongbuk's awareness and challenges for post-APEC and sustainable local government design. He emphasized the sustainable branding and strengthening of regional identity for the province's 22 cities and counties.

During the open discussion, a lively discussion ensued, with various opinions raised, including: ▲ the need for continued government-level attention to post-APEC; ▲ measures for shared growth between cities and counties through the development of regional tourism content; ▲ ways to efficiently utilize the province's four convention facilities; and ▲ the need for tourism and product development incorporating APEC storytelling.

Representative Jeong Kyung-min, who hosted the seminar, stated, "This seminar was a meaningful opportunity to build consensus on the importance of post-APEC and explore strategic directions for each stage. This serves as a starting point for designing a sustainable legacy for APEC. Going forward, the research group will expand the foundation for collaboration with various stakeholders and continuously explore policy support measures to realize the post-APEC strategy."

Meanwhile, the Post-APEC Strategy Implementation Research Group is comprised of 12 members, including Representative Jeong Gyeong-min, Representatives Kim Dae-il, Kim Dae-jin, Kim Il-soo, Kim Jin-yeop, Park Gyu-tak, Yeon Gyu-sik, Lee Seon-hee, Lee Chun-woo, Choi Byeong-geun, and Choi Byeong-jun, as well as external expert Representative Jeong Gwan-ho.
