【브레이크뉴스 문경】이성현 기자=문경시는 오는 2026년 1월 31일까지 노후 경유 자동차 소유자가 자동차 환경개선부담금을 연납할 경우, 올해 부과 금액의 10%를 감면받을 수 있는 제도를 시행한다고 밝혔다.
환경개선부담금은 주요 대기오염 원인인 경유 자동차(유로4등급 이하)에서 발생하는 오염물질을 줄이기 위해 부과되는 제도로, 차량의 노후도와 배기량, 자동차 등록 지역 등을 기준으로 산정된다. 징수된 부담금은 대기 및 수질 환경 개선 사업과 저공해 기술 개발 연구, 자연환경 보전 사업 등 환경 개선을 위한 재원으로 활용된다.
환경개선부담금은 관련 법령에 따라 매년 3월(전년도 하반기분)과 9월(당해연도 상반기분), 연 2회 부과된다. 다만 1월 31일까지 연납 신청 후 납부하면 해당 연도 전체 부과 금액에 대해 10% 감면 혜택을 받을 수 있다. 1월 내 연납 신청을 하지 못한 경우에도 3월 중 연납 신청은 가능하나, 이 경우에는 9월에 부과되는 금액에 한해 10% 감면이 적용된다.
