대구대 사범대학은 지난 1월 26일부터 27일까지 이틀간 필리핀 바탕가스 주립대학교(Batangas State University) 나숙부(Nasugbu) 캠퍼스에서 ‘국제 문화 교류 프로그램’을 성공적으로 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 예비 교원들의 글로벌 역량을 강화하고, 현지 교육 환경에 적용 가능한 교육 혁신 사례를 공유하기 위해 마련됐다. 행사에는 차정호 대구대 사범대학장을 비롯해 필리핀 현지 교수진과 예비 교사, 지역 주민 등이 참여해 학술과 문화를 아우르는 교류의 시간을 가졌다.

행사 첫날 열린 학술 세션에서는 차정호 학장이 연사로 나서 ‘AI 기술의 교육적 통합 전략’을 주제로 특강을 진행했다. 차 학장은 디지털 대전환 시대에 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 교수법이 학습자의 창의성과 참여도를 어떻게 높일 수 있는지 실제 사례를 중심으로 설명해 현지 교육 관계자들의 높은 관심을 끌었다.

이번 교류에는 필리핀 출신의 신티아 대구대 교수(자유전공학부)와 대학원 동문인 아델 교수(대구가톨릭대), 글로리아 교수(바탕가스 주립대)도 함께 참여해 양국 교육 현장의 경험을 공유했다. 이들은 한국과 필리핀 교육 환경을 잇는 가교 역할을 수행하며 교육 국제화의 방향성과 과제에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 이어갔다.

학술 교류와 더불어 지역사회와 함께하는 K-컬처 프로그램도 다채롭게 펼쳐졌다. 차정호 학장은 나숙부 지역 주민과 학생들을 대상으로 한국 김치의 역사와 문화적 가치를 소개했으며, 박미현 교사가 진행한 김치 담그기 체험은 참가자들에게 한국 전통 식문화를 직접 경험할 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간으로 호평을 받았다.

이 밖에도 한글 배우기, 김밥 만들기, 한복 체험 등 다양한 체험 프로그램이 운영됐으며, 행사 마지막 날에는 ‘K-POP 스타를 찾아서’ 경연대회가 열려 5개 단과대학 댄스팀이 참가하는 등 뜨거운 열기 속에 양국 참가자들이 하나 되는 화합의 장이 연출됐다.

차정호 대구대 사범대학장은 “이번 국제 교류는 대구대학교의 교육 혁신 사례를 해외에 소개하고, 예비 교사들이 다문화적 감수성과 글로벌 역량을 키우는 소중한 계기가 됐다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 국제 교류를 통해 글로컬(Glocal) 교육 협력의 모범 모델을 구축해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 대구대학교 사범대학은 이번 성과를 바탕으로 향후 해외 교육 실습, 공동 연구 등 국제 교육 네트워크를 더욱 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Daegu University's College of Education announced the successful hosting of the "International Cultural Exchange Program" at the Nasugbu Campus of Batangas State University in the Philippines from January 26th to 27th.

The program was designed to strengthen the global competencies of prospective teachers and share educational innovation cases applicable to local educational environments. The event brought together Dean Cha Jeong-ho of Daegu University's College of Education, local faculty, prospective teachers, and local residents, engaging in a collaborative exchange that encompassed both academic and cultural exchange.

Dean Cha Jeong-ho delivered a special lecture on "Educational Integration Strategies for AI Technology" during the academic session held on the first day of the event. Dean Cha's presentation, focusing on real-world examples of how AI-based teaching methods can enhance learner creativity and engagement in the era of digital transformation, captured the attention of local education professionals.

Professor Cynthia (Department of Liberal Arts) at Daegu University, along with fellow graduate school alumni Professor Adele (Daegu Catholic University) and Professor Gloria (Batangas State University), also from the Philippines, participated in the exchange, sharing their experiences in the educational field of both countries. They served as a bridge between the educational environments of Korea and the Philippines, engaging in in-depth discussions on the direction and challenges of internationalizing education.

In addition to academic exchanges, a variety of K-culture programs were held with the local community. Dean Cha Jeong-ho introduced the history and cultural value of Korean kimchi to residents and students of Nasugbu. Teacher Park Mi-hyeon's kimchi-making experience was well-received as a meaningful opportunity for participants to experience traditional Korean food culture firsthand.

In addition, various experiential programs were held, including learning Korean, making kimbap, and wearing hanbok. On the final day, a "Finding K-POP Stars" contest was held, featuring dance teams from five colleges. The event created a vibrant atmosphere of unity and harmony among participants from both countries.

Daegu University College of Education Dean Cha Jeong-ho stated, "This international exchange provided a valuable opportunity to showcase Daegu University's innovative educational practices abroad and foster multicultural sensitivity and global competency in prospective teachers. We will continue to build exemplary models of glocal educational cooperation through ongoing international exchanges."

Meanwhile, Daegu University's College of Education plans to build on this success by further expanding its international educational network through overseas teaching internships and joint research.
