박 의원은 이날 출마 선언문에서 “지금 포항은 어느 때보다 힘든 시기”라며 인구·고용·폐업 관련 지표를 제시했다. 그는 “2014년 51만9천 명이던 주민등록인구가 2025년 48만8천 명으로 감소했고, 철강공단 노동자도 1만6천 명에서 1만3천 명으로 줄었다”며 “2025년 상반기 고용률은 59.6%로 전국 평균(61.4%)보다 낮고, 실업률은 3.3%로 상승했다. 2024년 폐업률도 10.7%에 달한다”고 밝혔다.

이어 ▲‘철강 이후 100년 산업도시’ 전환을 위해 RE100 및 탄소중립 대응 철강산업 혁신, 군함·선박 유지·보수(MRO) 산업 육성, 주민 참여와 수익 환원을 결합한 포항형 에너지 전환 모델을 제시했다.

또 ▲ ‘떠나지 않는 도시’를 만들기 위해 청소년 무상교통 도입, 청년 정착 패키지(일자리·주거·문화) 추진, 여성 경력단절을 줄이는 생활 시스템 구축 등을 약속했다.

박 의원은 2014년, 2018년, 2022년 지방선거에서 내리 당선된 3선 시의원으로, 제9대 포항시의회 전반기 자치행정위원장을 지냈다. 최근까지 더불어민주당 포항시남구울릉군지역위원장을 역임했다.

Assemblyman Park is a three-term city council member, having been elected in the 2014, 2018, and 2022 local elections. He served as the Chairperson of the Autonomous Administration Committee for the first half of the 9th Pohang City Council. Until recently, he served as the Pohang-si Nam-gu Ulleung-gun regional committee chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea.
