청송군은 지난 16일부터 일주일간 청송읍 청운리 일대 꽃사과 재배단지에서 사과꽃 채취를 본격적으로 진행했다고 밝혔다. 이번 작업은 인공수분에 활용할 고품질 꽃가루를 확보하기 위한 조치다.

군 농업기술센터는 최근 개화기 저온 피해 등 이상기상에 대응해 과수 농가의 생산 안정성을 높이고자 약 2.5ha 규모의 꽃사과 재배단지를 운영하고 있다. 이를 통해 연간 약 5kg의 꽃가루를 생산해 농가에 보급하고 있다.

또한 농업기술센터 내 꽃가루은행에는 전용 제조시설과 채취기 등 관련 장비가 구축돼 있으며, 자체 생산 꽃가루 공급뿐 아니라 농가가 채취한 꽃을 꽃가루로 가공해주는 서비스도 제공하고 있다.

이 같은 지원은 농가의 노동 부담을 줄이고, 안정적인 인공수분 작업을 가능하게 하는 데 기여하고 있다는 평가다.

청송군 농업기술센터 관계자는 “기후변화로 자연수분이 어려워지는 사례가 늘면서 인공수분의 중요성이 커지고 있다”며 “우수한 꽃가루를 적기에 공급해 사과 생산의 안정 기반을 강화하는 데 도움이 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
