청송군축제추진위원회는 청송사과의 맛이 절정에 이르는 시기에 맞춰 오는 11월 4일부터 8일까지 5일간 용전천 현비암 일원에서 ‘제20회 청송사과축제’를 개최하기로 결정했다.
올해 축제 주제는 ‘지금 청송! 사과로 물들다’로 확정됐다. 군은 이번 주제에 대해 청송사과가 가장 맛있는 시기에 맞춰 관광객들을 청송으로 초대하는 의미와 환영의 메시지를 담고 있다고 설명했다.
청송사과축제는 문화체육관광부 지정 문화관광축제로, 다양한 볼거리와 체험 프로그램을 갖춘 대한민국 대표 농산물 축제로 자리매김하고 있다.
특히 올해도 전국적인 호응을 얻었던 온라인 청송사과축제를 함께 운영해 현장을 찾지 못하는 관광객들도 온라인을 통해 청송사과와 축제의 매력을 즐길 수 있도록 할 계획이다.
또 지난해 축제 방문객들의 의견을 반영해 장애인 편의시설을 확충하고 가족 친화형 휴식공간을 조성하는 등 누구나 편안하게 즐길 수 있는 축제 환경 조성에도 나설 방침이다.
청송군 관계자는 “제20회 청송사과축제는 청송사과의 명성에 걸맞은 맛과 청정 자연, 청송만의 따뜻한 인심을 함께 담아낸 축제가 될 것”이라며 “철저한 준비를 통해 군민과 관광객 모두가 안전하고 즐겁게 즐길 수 있는 대한민국 최고의 축제로 만들겠다”고 말했다.
