도에 따르면 이번 공모는 지역 청년이 겪는 다양한 사회·경제적 어려움을 해소하고 안정적인 지역사회 정착을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다. 전국 기초지자체 청년센터를 대상으로 약 30개소를 선발하는 경쟁 공모로 진행됐으며, 경북은 신청한 포항·경산·의성 3개 청년센터가 모두 선정됐다.

‘지역특화 청년사업’은 각 청년센터가 지역 특성과 청년 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 프로그램을 직접 기획·운영하는 방식으로 추진된다.

선정된 사업은 지역별 특색을 살린 프로그램으로 구성됐다. 포항은 해안과 숲 등 자연환경을 활용한 체류형 프로그램 ‘로컬 브릿지 지원사업’을 운영한다. 경산은 대학 밀집 도시 특성을 반영해 청년들의 고립감 해소를 위한 ‘웹툰으로 채우는 한 끼의 위로 프로그램’을 추진한다. 의성은 지역 소멸 위기 극복과 청년 정착 지원을 위해 청년과 주민이 함께 참여하는 ‘청년 지역 의제 연결소’(마을×청년 교류 프로젝트)를 운영할 계획이다.

각 청년센터는 2천500만 원의 사업비를 지원받아 오는 5월부터 11월까지 지역 맞춤형 프로그램을 운영한다.

이번 성과는 경상북도와 경상북도 청년센터의 체계적인 지원이 뒷받침한 결과로 평가된다. 도는 사업 기획 초기부터 기초 청년센터와 공동 컨설팅을 진행하고, 선정 심사 가점으로 반영되는 광역센터 예산을 추가 지원하는 등 공모 경쟁력 강화에 힘써왔다.

경상북도와 경상북도 청년센터는 앞으로도 기초 청년센터가 사업을 안정적으로 운영할 수 있도록 예산 지원은 물론 지역 자원 연계와 운영 지원 등 다각적인 협력을 이어갈 방침이다.

이상수 국장은 “이번 선정은 도내 청년센터들이 지역 청년의 목소리를 적극 반영해 독창적이고 실효성 있는 프로그램을 기획한 결과”라며 “앞으로도 경북 청년들이 지역사회와 함께 주도적으로 성장하고 더 나은 삶을 꾸려갈 수 있도록 정책적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

Each youth center will receive 25 million won in project funding to operate region-specific programs from this coming May to November.

This achievement is attributed to the systematic support provided by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Center. From the initial planning stages, the province has strived to strengthen competitiveness in the application process by conducting joint consultations with local youth centers and providing additional funding for metropolitan centers, which serves as bonus points in the selection evaluation.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Center plan to continue multifaceted cooperation—including not only budget support but also the linkage of local resources and operational assistance—to ensure the stable operation of local youth centers. Director Lee Sang-su stated, “This selection is the result of youth centers in the province actively reflecting the voices of local youth to plan unique and effective programs,” adding, “We will continue to provide unwavering policy support so that the youth of Gyeongbuk can proactively grow together with the local community and build better lives.”
