【브레이크뉴스 청송】진예솔 기자=경북 청송군 주왕산국립공원에서 실종됐던 11살 초등학생 A군이 실종 3일 만에 숨진 채 발견됐다.

12일 경찰과 소방당국에 따르면, A군은 이날 오전 11시 30분쯤 주왕산국립공원 주봉 하단부 인근에서 발견됐다. 

지난 10일, 부모와 함께 공원 내 사찰을 찾았던 A군은 등산로 입구에서 “혼자 올라가겠다”고 말한 뒤 홀로 산에 올랐고, 이후 가족과 연락이 끊겼다. 

실종 당시 A군은 프로야구 삼성 라이온즈 유니폼과 모자를 착용하고 있었다.

수색에는 경찰, 소방, 국립공원 관계자 등 320여 명의 인력과 헬기 3대, 드론 6대 등이 투입됐다. 

구조대는 기암교에서 주봉 방향 등산로를 중심으로 집중 수색을 벌였으며, 경사가 심하고 폭이 좁은 계곡 주변과 등산로 이탈 가능 구간 등에 대해서도 중점적으로 살폈다.

이날 오전, 구조대는 집중 수색 끝에 주봉 하단부 인근에서 A군을 발견했다.

경찰과 소방당국은 시신을 수습하고 정확한 사고 경위와 사망 원인을 조사하고 있다.

An 11-year-old elementary school student, identified as "A," who had been missing in Juwangsan National Park in Cheongsong-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, was found dead three days after his disappearance.

According to police and fire authorities on the 12th, A was discovered around 11:30 a.m. that day near the lower section of the main peak of Juwangsan National Park.

A, who had visited a temple within the park with his parents on the 10th, said at the entrance to the hiking trail, "I will go up alone," before climbing the mountain by himself; he subsequently lost contact with his family.

At the time of his disappearance, A was wearing a Samsung Lions professional baseball uniform and cap.

Approximately 320 personnel, including police, firefighters, and National Park officials, along with three helicopters and six drones, were deployed for the search.

The rescue team conducted an intensive search centered on the hiking trail from Giamgyo Bridge toward the main peak, while also focusing on areas around steep and narrow valleys and sections where hikers might have veered off the trail. This morning, rescue teams found A near the base of Jubong Peak after an intensive search.

Police and fire authorities have recovered the body and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident and the cause of death.
