이날 추 후보는 “정쟁은 서울에서 하라더니, 민주당 정책위의장이 아침부터 갑자기 입에 거품을 물었다”며 “민주당 중앙당은 저를 아무 근거 없이 비난하고, 김부겸 후보는 대구에서 점잖게 행동하겠다는 작전을 짠 것 같다. 정말 하책 중의 하책"이라고 비판했다.

TK신공항과 관련해서는 “대구·경북 통합신공항 건설은 500만 대구·경북 시·도민의 염원이자 미래 핵심 사업”이라며 “군공항 이전을 대구시가 빚을 내서 하라는 게 말이 되느냐”고 지적했다.

추 후보는 “정말 진심으로 대구 시민들에게 표를 얻고 싶다면, TK신공항의 국가주도사업 전환을 요구해야 한다”며 “세계 어느 나라가 군공항을 지방자치단체가 알아서 옮기라고 하느냐”고 강하게 주장했다.
