【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 장동혁 대표가 12일 경북에서 열린 지방선거 필승 결의대회에서 이재명 정부를 강하게 견제할 필요성을 강조하며 보수진영의 결집을 호소했다.

장 대표는 이날 경북 선거대책위원회 발대식에서 “오늘 받은 공천장은 국민의힘과 대한민국을 지키라는 국민과 당원들의 명령”이라고 강조했다. 그는 “기쁜 마음보다 무겁고 책임감 있는 마음으로 공천장을 받아달라”며 후보자들에게 각오를 다질 것을 주문했다.

이날 장 대표는 현 정부를 겨냥해 “대한민국의 법치와 가치가 흔들리고 있다”며 “이번 지방선거를 통해 반드시 이재명 정부를 견제해야 한다”고 목소리를 높였다. 이어 “이재명 정부 들어 법치주의가 무너졌다”며 검찰개혁과 사법제도 개편 정책에 문제를 제기했다. 그러면서 “국민도 없고 주권도 없는 게 지금의 현실”이라고 비판했다.

또한 “기업이 숨 쉬어야 투자도 늘고 일자리도 생기는데, 현 정부는 기업의 돈을 나눠주겠다며 경제를 망치고 있다”고 지적하며 “이런 방식으로는 대한민국 경제가 살아날 수 없다”고 걱정했다.

장 대표는 “이제부터는 국민의힘과 국민, 그리고 대한민국을 위해 함께 싸워 달라”며 당원들의 단합을 강조했다.

이철우 경북도지사 후보에 대해서는 “어려운 시기에도 한결같이 당을 지켜온 리더라며, 경북을 하나로 묶어 압승을 이끌 적임자”라고 치켜세웠다.

이어 “경북에서 모인 표심이 큰 돌풍이 되어 결국 대한민국 전체를 바꾸는 힘이 될 것”이라며 “대구·경북에서 시작된 변화의 바람이 대한민국을 지키는 힘이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 국민의힘 지도부와 경북 지역 광역·기초단체장 후보들이 대거 참석해 지방선거 필승을 다짐했다.
