장동혁 대표는 “오늘 받은 공천장은 국민의힘과 대한민국을 지키라는 국민과 당원의 명령”이라며, “그 어느 때보다 무거운 책임감을 안고 공천장을 받았다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “이재명 정부 들어 대한민국의 법치와 가치가 흔들리고 있다”며, “이번 지방선거에서 반드시 이를 막아내야 한다”고 목소리를 높였다. 또한 “경북의 표심은 돌풍을 넘어 태풍이 되어 전국에 퍼질 것”이라고 자신감을 드러냈다. 이철우 후보에 대해서도 “당이 어려울 때도 중심을 지켜온 리더”라고 평가했다.
