이번 행사는 원전 생태계 전반의 품질 수준을 근본적으로 끌어올리기 위한 구체적인 실행 방안을 공유하고, 산업계 전반의 품질 혁신 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

행사에서는 성균관대학교 신완선 교수가 ‘인공지능(AI)을 이용한 품질전문가 역량 혁신 방안’을 주제로 특강을 진행했다. 이어 한수원이 추진 중인 원전 품질 중장기 계획인 ‘Q-STAR 2029’의 주요 성과 발표와 함께 위·변조 및 의심 품목(CFSI) 예방 세미나, 협력사 대상 공급자 유자격 품질 분야 심사 교육 등이 이어졌다.

특히 한수원은 이번 행사에서 지난해 개발한 ‘공급자 품질수준 계량평가 지표’를 소개해 주목을 받았다. 해당 지표는 기존 정성적 평가에 의존하던 공급자 품질관리 수준을 수치화해 체계적으로 관리할 수 있도록 설계된 시스템으로, 향후 원전 산업계 전반으로 확대 적용할 계획이다.

장희승 품질기술본부장은 “원전 운영의 핵심은 결국 공급자의 품질에 달려 있다”며 “이번에 개발한 공급자 품질수준 계량평가 지표를 현장에 지속 적용·고도화해 국내 원자력 품질의 글로벌 경쟁력을 한 단계 끌어올리는 계기로 만들겠다”고 말했다.

KHNP Hosts ‘7th Korea Nuclear Quality Council’… Sharing Measures to Strengthen Nuclear Power Quality Competitiveness

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Kim Hoe-cheon, hereinafter KHNP) held the regular general meeting of the ‘7th Korea Nuclear Quality Council’ at the Lahan Hotel in Gyeongju for two days starting on the 12th, with approximately 400 representatives from the nuclear power industry in attendance, to discuss measures to strengthen the quality competitiveness of nuclear power plants.

This event was organized to share concrete implementation plans to fundamentally raise the quality level of the entire nuclear power ecosystem and to explore directions for quality innovation across the industry.

During the event, Professor Shin Wan-sun of Sungkyunkwan University delivered a special lecture on the topic of ‘Strategies for Innovating Quality Expert Competencies Using Artificial Intelligence (AI).’ This was followed by a presentation on the key achievements of ‘Q-STAR 2029,’ KHNP’s mid-to-long-term nuclear quality plan, as well as seminars on preventing counterfeiting and suspected counterfeit goods (CFSI), and training for partner companies on supplier qualification quality audits.

In particular, KHNP garnered attention at the event by introducing the "Quantitative Evaluation Indicators for Supplier Quality Levels" developed last year. This system is designed to quantify and systematically manage supplier quality control levels, which previously relied on qualitative evaluations, and the company plans to expand its application across the entire nuclear power industry.

Jang Hee-seung, Head of the Quality Technology Division, stated, "The core of nuclear power plant operations ultimately depends on supplier quality." He added, "We will make this an opportunity to elevate the global competitiveness of domestic nuclear quality to the next level by continuously applying and further enhancing the newly developed Quantitative Evaluation Indicators for Supplier Quality Levels in the field."
