【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=엑스코가 주최하는 ‘제1회 국제여과컨퍼런스’가 문화체육관광부의 ‘2026년 글로벌 K-컨벤션 육성사업’ 신규 지원 사업에 선정됐다. 이번 결정으로 대구시는 앞으로 4년간 최대 6억 원의 국비를 지원받게 됐다. 이를 통해 물·환경·여과 기술 분야의 국제회의 육성에 한층 박차를 가할 전망이다.

엑스코는 그동안 세계에너지총회, 세계물포럼, 세계물총회, 세계가스총회 등 굵직한 국제행사를 성공적으로 개최해 온 경험뿐만 아니라, 국가물산업클러스터 등 대구 지역 내 물 산업 인프라를 연계한 실증 프로그램 구성에서 좋은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.

대구시는 이번 컨퍼런스를 기점으로 아시아 여과 산업의 전초기지이자, 물·환경 기술 분야의 글로벌 협력 거점으로 도약하겠다는 비전을 밝혔다. 행사에서는 학술회의와 전시뿐만 아니라, 기업 간 비즈니스 매칭, 기술 실증 프로그램, 국가물산업클러스터 연계 현장 견학 등이 함께 진행될 예정이다.
