국민의힘 안동시 당원협의회는 16일 오후 4시 안동당협 사무실에서 김형동 국회의원과 권기창 안동시장 후보를 비롯해 경북도의원 및 안동시의원 후보 전원이 참석한 가운데 ‘제9회 지방선거 국민의힘 안동시 후보자 클린선거 결의대회’를 개최했다.

이번 결의대회는 전날 권기창 후보 선대위 측이 허위사실 유포 혐의로 특정 단체 관계자들을 안동시선관위에 고발한 직후 진행됐다. 당협 측은 위법 행위에 대해서는 법적으로 대응하되, 선거 과정에서는 상호 비방을 지양하고 정책 중심으로 경쟁하겠다는 취지라고 설명했다.

이날 행사에는 권기창 안동시장 후보를 포함해 김대진·권백신·김정대 경북도의원 후보, 여주희·우창하·권기윤 등 안동시의원 후보 15명, 김미경·김홍기 비례대표 후보 등이 참석했다.

참석 후보들을 대표해 결의문을 낭독한 권기창 안동시장 후보는 ▲시민 중심의 정책 경쟁 ▲네거티브 없는 공정 선거 지향 ▲당의 승리를 위한 협력 등을 선언했다.

권 후보는 “이번 선거는 치열한 경쟁이 예상되는 만큼, 정정당당한 정책 선거를 통해 시민들의 선택을 받겠다”고 강조했다.
