【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구청이 지역 청년 창업기업의 실리콘밸리 진출을 돕는다. 북구청은 ‘L.O.G(Launch On-Global) 스케일업 실리콘밸리 지원사업’에 참여할 기업을 모집한다고 18일 밝혔다.

이 사업은 북구 청년 스타트업이 글로벌 시장에 도전할 수 있도록 네트워킹과 투자 유치 역량을 키워주고, 실리콘밸리 창업 생태계를 직접 경험할 수 있도록 마련됐다. 모집 대상은 만 19세부터 39세 이하의 대표자가 이끄는, 창업 7년 미만 청년 창업기업이다. 선발 규모는 5개사로, 본사·지사·공장·연구소 중 한 곳 이상이 대구 북구에 있으면 지원할 수 있다. 단, 선정 후 1개월 안에 북구로 이전하면 자격이 주어진다.

참여 기업에는 실리콘밸리 진출에 필요한 영문 피치덱 작성법과 발표 실습, IR 역량 강화 교육 등 사전 프로그램이 제공된다. 이후 참가자들은 미국 실리콘밸리를 방문해 구글, 애플, 스탠퍼드대, KIC 등 현지 혁신기관을 탐방하고 네트워킹 기회도 갖는다.

또한 10월 13일부터 15일까지 열리는 테크크런치 디스럽트 2026 참관과 함께, 현지 투자사와의 미팅, 비즈니스 상담회 등 글로벌 투자 네트워크 연계 지원도 제공된다.

북구청 관계자는 “이번 지원사업을 통해 지역 청년 창업기업의 해외 진출 기반을 넓히고, 투자 연계와 글로벌 파트너십 구축까지 적극 도울 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

The Buk-gu Office in Daegu is assisting local youth startups in entering Silicon Valley. The Buk-gu Office announced on the 18th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘L.O.G (Launch On-Global) Scale-up Silicon Valley Support Program.’

The recruitment target is youth startups less than seven years old, led by a representative aged between 19 and 39. Five companies will be selected, and applicants must have at least one headquarters, branch office, factory, or research institute located in Buk-gu, Daegu. However, eligibility is granted only if the company relocates to Buk-gu within one month of selection.

Participating companies will be provided with preliminary programs necessary for entering Silicon Valley, including training on writing English pitch decks, presentation practice, and IR capability enhancement. Following this, participants will visit Silicon Valley in the United States to tour local innovation institutions such as Google, Apple, Stanford University, and KIC, and gain networking opportunities.

An official from the Buk-gu Office stated, "Through this support program, we plan to actively assist local youth startups in expanding their foundation for overseas expansion, as well as facilitating investment linkages and the establishment of global partnerships."
