【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구가 외국인 의료관광객을 대상으로 관광과 지역 상권을 연계한 ‘관광쿠폰 사업’을 확대 추진한다.

중구청은 외국인 환자들의 병원 방문을 계기로 중구에 더 오래 머무르며 지역에서 소비할 수 있도록 올해도 ‘의료관광 관광쿠폰 사업’을 이어간다고 15일 밝혔다. 이 사업은 2022년 시작돼 올해로 3년째를 맞는다.

관광쿠폰은 중구 내 외국인 환자 유치 의료기관 60곳에서 받을 수 있다. 쿠폰에는 쇼핑, 숙박, 체험, 뷰티, 외식 등 다양한 할인 혜택이 담겨 있다.

제휴 업체는 더현대 대구, 스파크랜드, 거송갈비찜, 새벽미학, 초록물들이다, 비비드제이, 계산예가, 한방의료체험타운, 약령시 판매장 등 9곳이다.

쿠폰을 이용하면 더현대 대구에서 무료 커피와 기념품을 받을 수 있고, 스파크랜드 자유이용권이나 약령시 판매장 전 품목, 한복 체험·뷰티 프로그램 등 다양한 할인을 누릴 수 있다.

숙박 할인도 마련됐다. 중구는 외국인 환자 유치 23개 업체와 숙박업소 6곳과 협력해, 토요코인 대구 동성로 등에서 예약 시 객실 요금을 10~15% 할인해준다.

중구는 지난해 관광쿠폰 회수율이 50%에 달하며, 이를 통해 지역 방문 효과가 높아진 것으로 나타났다고 밝혔다.

중구청 관계자는 “관광, 숙박, 쇼핑을 결합한 의료관광 모델로 ‘다시 찾고 싶은 도시 대구 중구’의 이미지를 강화할 계획”이라며 “의료기관과 지역 상권이 함께 성장하는 상생 구조를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

Accommodation discounts have also been arranged. Jung-gu is collaborating with 23 companies attracting foreign patients and 6 accommodation establishments to offer a 10–15% discount on room rates for reservations at places such as Toyoko Inn Daegu Dongseong-ro.

Jung-gu announced that the redemption rate of tourism coupons reached 50% last year, indicating that this has boosted local visits.

An official from the Jung-gu Office stated, "We plan to strengthen the image of 'Daegu Jung-gu, a city you want to visit again' through a medical tourism model that combines tourism, accommodation, and shopping," adding, "We will create a mutually beneficial structure where medical institutions and local commercial districts grow together."
