포항상공회의소(회장 나주영)가 운영하는 경북동부FTA통상진흥센터는 오는 27일 포항상공회의소 2층 회의실에서 ‘한-UAE CEPA 협정 및 대미 수출 원산지 규정·판정 설명회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 설명회는 최근 발효된 한-UAE 포괄적경제동반자협정(CEPA)에 대한 이해를 높이고, 미국의 원산지 검증 강화에 선제적으로 대응할 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 마련됐다. 이를 통해 지역 기업들의 해외시장 대응력과 수출 경쟁력을 높인다는 계획이다.

이날 첫 번째 강의는 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA)가 맡아 ‘한-UAE CEPA 협정 설명’을 주제로 진행한다. 협정 체결에 따른 경북지역 주요 산업 분야의 관세 혜택과 유망 수출품목, 활용 전략 등을 중심으로 실무에 필요한 정보를 제공할 예정이다.

이어 한국원산지정보원이 ‘대미 수출기업 원산지 규정과 판정 사례’를 주제로 강연에 나선다. 최근 미국의 통상 규제 강화와 원산지 검증 확대 추세를 반영해 관련 품목별 판정 사례와 대응 방안을 소개하며 기업 실무자들의 이해를 도울 계획이다.

Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Gyeongbuk East FTA Trade Promotion Center to Hold Briefing on Korea-UAE CEPA and Rules of Origin for Exports to the U.S.

The Gyeongbuk East FTA Trade Promotion Center of the Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing a briefing session on the Korea-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and rules of origin for exports to the U.S. to strengthen the trade response capabilities of local export companies.

The Gyeongbuk East FTA Trade Promotion Center, operated by the Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Na Ju-young), announced that it will hold the "Briefing Session on the Korea-UAE CEPA Agreement and Rules of Origin and Determination for Exports to the U.S." on the 27th at the conference room on the second floor of the Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry building.

This briefing session was organized to enhance understanding of the recently effective Korea-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and to support companies in proactively responding to the U.S.'s strengthened verification of origin. Through this, the center plans to enhance the overseas market responsiveness and export competitiveness of local companies.

The first lecture of the day will be hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) under the theme of "Explanation of the Korea-UAE CEPA Agreement." It is scheduled to provide practical information focusing on tariff benefits for key industrial sectors in the Gyeongbuk region resulting from the agreement, promising export items, and utilization strategies.

Following this, the Korea Origin Information Service will deliver a lecture on the topic of "Rules of Origin and Determination Cases for Companies Exporting to the U.S." Reflecting the recent trend of tightening U.S. trade regulations and expanding origin verification, the session plans to help business practitioners understand the relevant issues by introducing judgment cases and response measures for specific product categories.
