UNESCO 창의도시를 기반으로 한 문화다양성 교육, 글로벌브릿지 협력수업, 대구청소년 국제포럼, 글로벌 탐구프로젝트 등도 확대 운영할 방침이다.
또한, 대구의 언어와 문화, 음식 등 지역만의 콘텐츠를 세계에 알리는 ‘말·멋·맛 프로젝트’를 추진해 학생들이 지역 정체성과 국제 감각을 함께 키울 수 있도록 하겠다는 구상이다.
강 후보는 “대구는 자랑스러운 민주주의와 공동체 정신의 역사를 가진 도시”라며, “대구글로벌교육원을 통해 경제적 배경과 상관없이 모든 아이들이 세계와 연결될 수 있는 기회를 만들겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “자신의 뿌리를 알고 세계와 소통할 수 있는, 진정한 글로벌 시민을 길러내는 것이 최종 목표”라고 덧붙였다.
