포항테크노파크(원장 송경창)는 지난 15일 ‘철강산업 위기 극복 맞춤형 지원사업’ 선정기업을 대상으로 협약 체결 및 간담회를 열고 기업별 지원 프로그램 운영에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 포항시의 산업위기 선제대응지역 지정에 따른 철강산업 위기 대응 사업의 일환으로 마련됐다. 경북테크노파크와 경북지역산업진흥원, 포항소재산업진흥원이 공동 수행기관으로 참여하며, 이날 행사에는 선정기업과 유관기관 관계자 50여 명이 참석했다.

포항테크노파크와 참여기관은 포항지역 철강·금속 분야와 전·후방 연관 산업 기업을 대상으로 공개 모집과 평가를 거쳐 최종 37개사를 선정했다. 이날 협약 체결을 시작으로 기업별 맞춤형 지원 프로그램을 본격 운영할 계획이다.

선정기업에는 시제품 제작, 공정개선 및 기술지도, 탄소저감 기술지원, 인증·시험분석, 지식재산(IP) 전략 수립 등 기술지원과 함께 판로개척, 마케팅, 사업화 지원이 제공된다. 이와 함께 재직자 교육과 인력양성 프로그램도 연계 추진된다.

이날 간담회에서는 기업 현장의 애로사항과 지원사업 개선 의견을 청취하는 시간도 마련됐다. 참여기관들은 현장 의견을 적극 반영해 실효성 있는 지원체계를 구축하고 철강산업 위기 극복과 기업 경쟁력 회복에 힘을 모을 방침이다.

송경창 포항테크노파크 원장은 “철강산업은 포항 경제의 핵심 기반 산업인 만큼 기업들이 변화하는 산업환경 속에서도 경쟁력을 유지할 수 있도록 현장 중심의 실질적 지원을 강화하겠다”며 “지역 산업 위기 극복과 기업 성장 지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Pohang Technopark and the participating agencies selected a final 37 companies through an open recruitment and evaluation process targeting firms in the Pohang region's steel and metal sectors as well as related upstream and downstream industries. Starting with the signing of the agreement on this day, they plan to fully operate the customized support programs for each company.

**Post-Agreement Signing** Selected companies will be provided with technical support, including prototype production, process improvement and technical guidance, carbon reduction technology support, certification and testing analysis, and the establishment of intellectual property (IP) strategies, as well as support for market expansion, marketing, and commercialization. In addition, training for incumbent employees and workforce development programs will be implemented in conjunction.

The meeting also included a session to listen to on-site difficulties and suggestions for improving support programs. Participating organizations plan to actively incorporate feedback from the field to establish an effective support system and join forces to overcome the crisis in the steel industry and restore corporate competitiveness.
