【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=경북ICT융합산업진흥협회가 인공지능(AI)과 데이터 산업 확산에 따른 정보보호 역량 강화를 위해 ‘AI 데이터 정보보호 대연합’을 공식 출범하고 지역 주요 대학·기관과 협력 체계를 구축했다.

협회는 20일 영남대학교 이시원 글로벌 컨벤션홀에서 AI 데이터 정보보호 대연합 출범식과 함께 11개 기관이 참여하는 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

협회는 이번 대연합 출범에 대해 AI·데이터 기술이 빠르게 확산되는 가운데 개인정보 유출과 AI 보안 위협 등 새로운 산업 환경 변화에 공동 대응하고, 지역 내 기업·대학·연구기관 간 협력 기반을 강화하기 위해 추진됐다고 설명했다.

협약에는 경북ICT융합산업진흥협회를 비롯해 경운대학교, 경일대학교, 국립경국대학교, 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스, 대구가톨릭대학교, 대구대학교, 영남대학교, 포항공과대학교, 경북SW마이스터고등학교 등 총 11개 기관이 참여했다.

이날 행사에는 LG유플러스, 안랩, 파이오링크, 엔피코어, 위즈코리아, 다쏘시스템코리아, 한국인터넷진흥원 등 관련 기업과 기관도 참석해 AI 데이터 활용 및 정보보호 기술 동향을 공유하고 산업 현장 적용 사례와 협력 방안을 논의했다.

참여 기관들은 협약을 통해 △AI·데이터 정보보호 기술 및 연구 성과 교류 △정보보호 전문인력 양성과 교육 프로그램 공동 운영 △공동 연구개발 및 정부·민간 지원사업 협력 △세미나·포럼·전시회 공동 기획 등에 힘을 모으기로 했다.

최용진 협회장은 “경북에는 우수한 기업과 대학이 많지만 이를 연결하는 협력의 장이 부족했다”며 “이번 대연합 출범이 경북이 대한민국 AI 정보보호 산업의 새로운 거점으로 성장하는 출발점이 될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 초대 의장은 이헌수 학장이 맡아 행사 운영과 협력 체계 구축을 이끌었다. 이날 행사에는 산·학·연·관 관계자 200여 명이 참석해 AI 데이터와 정보보호 분야 협력 확대 및 산업 발전 방향에 높은 관심을 나타냈다.

이번 행사는 K-하이테크 플랫폼과 영남대학교 정보통신연구소가 공동 주관했다.

The Gyeongbuk ICT Convergence Industry Promotion Association has officially launched the ‘AI Data Information Protection Grand Alliance’ to strengthen information protection capabilities in response to the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) and data industries, and has established a cooperation system with major local universities and institutions.

The Association announced that it held the launch ceremony for the AI ​​Data Information Protection Grand Alliance at the Lee Si-won Global Convention Hall of Yeungnam University on the 20th, along with signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) involving 11 participating organizations.

The Association explained that the launch of this grand alliance was pursued to jointly respond to changes in the new industrial environment, such as personal information leaks and AI security threats, amidst the rapid spread of AI and data technologies, and to strengthen the foundation for cooperation among local companies, universities, and research institutions.

A total of 11 organizations participated in the agreement, including the Gyeongbuk ICT Convergence Industry Promotion Association, Kyungwoon University, Kyungil University, Kyungkuk National University, Dongguk University WISE Campus, Daegu Catholic University, Daegu University, Yeungnam University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, and Gyeongbuk SW Meister High School.

Related companies and institutions, such as LG Uplus, AhnLab, Piolink, NPcore, WIZ Korea, Dassault Systèmes Korea, and the Korea Internet & Security Agency, also attended the event to share trends in AI data utilization and information security technologies, and to discuss industrial application cases and cooperation strategies.

Through the agreement, the participating organizations agreed to join forces on: △exchanging AI and data information security technologies and research achievements; △training information security professionals and jointly operating educational programs; △cooperating on joint R&D and government/private support projects; and △jointly planning seminars, forums, and exhibitions. Association President Choi Yong-jin stated, “Gyeongbuk has many excellent companies and universities, but there has been a lack of platforms for cooperation to connect them.” He added, “We will actively support the launch of this grand alliance so that it can serve as a starting point for Gyeongbuk to grow into a new hub for Korea’s AI information security industry.”

Meanwhile, Dean Lee Heon-soo served as the inaugural chairman, leading the operation of the event and the establishment of a cooperation framework. Approximately 200 officials from industry, academia, research institutes, and government attended the event, demonstrating keen interest in expanding cooperation in the fields of AI data and information security, as well as the direction of industrial development.

The event was jointly organized by the K-High-Tech Platform and the Information and Communication Research Institute of Yeungnam University.
