이어 경주 선거연락사무소 개소식 현장에서는 교육가족과 시민들을 만나 3선 도전의 의지를 다졌다. 특히 이날 개소식에서는 개인정보 해킹 피해로 대학 합격이 취소될 뻔했던 경주 출신 학생의 아버지가 감사 인사를 전해 눈길을 끌었다.

임 후보는 “교육이란 거창한 구호보다 아이 한 명의 절박한 사연을 외면하지 않는 것에서 시작된다”며 “누군가 도움이 필요할 때 가장 먼저 손 내미는 교육 현장을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

같은 날 경주 중앙시장에서 시민들과 만난 임 후보는 ‘각자의 꿈을 살리는 더 따뜻한 경북교육’을 내세우며 비전을 설명했다. 오후에는 포항 죽도시장과 장량교차로를 찾아 현장 유세를 이어갔다.

또한 임 후보는 사람 중심 AI 교육, AI 격차 해소, 작은학교 공동 캠퍼스 조성, 마음건강 지원 강화, 특수교육 및 이주배경 학생 지원, 에듀버스·에듀택시 확대 등 현장 중심 공약도 재차 강조했다.
