시는 오는 30일 오후 5시 우로지자연생태공원 소공연장에서 시민과 관광객이 함께 즐길 수 있는 ‘DIMF 딤프린지 특별공연’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 공연은 신성일기념관 개관을 기념해 추진됐으며, 지난 2008년부터 2013년까지 DIMF 이사장을 맡아 활동했던 故 신성일 배우의 문화예술 정신과 공헌을 되새기기 위해 기획됐다. 이에 따라 DIMF가 영천을 찾아 특별 무대를 선보이게 됐다.

공연은 DIMF의 대표 거리공연 프로그램인 ‘딤프린지(DIMFringe)’ 형식으로 진행된다. 무대에서는 디즈니 OST를 비롯해 ‘광화문연가’, ‘그날들’ 등 대중적으로 사랑받아온 주크박스 뮤지컬 곡들이 펼쳐질 예정으로, 다양한 세대가 함께 즐길 수 있는 공연으로 꾸며진다.

또 국내 대표 청소년 뮤지컬 경연대회인 ‘DIMF 뮤지컬스타’ 출신 수상자와 참가자들이 출연해 무대의 완성도를 높인다. 공연에는 제11회 DIMF 뮤지컬스타 대상 수상자인 한은빈을 비롯해 제9회 우수상 수상자 김정윤, 제11회 본선 진출자 배민영 등이 참여한다.

특히 공연 장소인 우로지자연생태공원 소공연장은 접근성이 뛰어나 시민 누구나 자유롭게 문화공연을 관람할 수 있다는 점에서 기대를 모으고 있다.

영천시는 앞으로도 우로지 소공연장을 활용해 시민 밀착형 문화예술 프로그램과 공연 콘텐츠를 지속적으로 확대 운영할 계획이다.

영천시 관계자는 “한국 영화계를 대표했던 신성일 배우와 DIMF의 의미 있는 인연이 이번 특별공연으로 이어져 더욱 뜻깊다”며 “시민들이 일상 속에서 수준 높은 공연을 편안하게 즐기며 문화로 소통하는 시간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Actor Shin Sung-il and DIMF’s Special Connection… ‘DIMFringe’ Performance to be Held in Yeongcheon

Yeongcheon City is organizing a special performance to commemorate the connection between the late actor Shin Sung-il and the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF).

The city announced that it will host the ‘DIMF DIMFringe Special Performance,’ which citizens and tourists can enjoy together, at the small performance hall in Uroji Nature Ecological Park on the 30th at 5 p.m.

This performance was organized to commemorate the opening of the Shin Sung-il Memorial Hall and was planned to reflect on the cultural and artistic spirit and contributions of the late actor Shin Sung-il, who served as the Chairman of DIMF from 2008 to 2013. In addition, winners and participants from "DIMF Musical Star," Korea's premier youth musical competition, will appear to enhance the quality of the stage. The performance will feature Han Eun-bin, the Grand Prize winner of the 11th DIMF Musical Star, Kim Jeong-yun, the Excellence Award winner of the 9th competition, and Bae Min-young, a finalist from the 11th competition.

In particular, the venue, the Small Performance Hall at Uroji Nature Ecological Park, is garnering anticipation due to its excellent accessibility, allowing any citizen to freely enjoy cultural performances.

Yeongcheon City plans to continue utilizing the Uroji Small Performance Hall to continuously expand and operate citizen-oriented cultural arts programs and performance content. An official from Yeongcheon City said, “It is even more meaningful that the significant relationship between actor Shin Seong-il, who represented the Korean film industry, and DIMF has led to this special performance,” adding, “We hope this will be a time for citizens to comfortably enjoy high-quality performances in their daily lives and communicate through culture.”
