이번에 문을 연 창업팀은 총 8개 팀으로 요식업과 디저트, 문화체험 분야 등 다양한 업종에서 창의적인 아이디어와 경쟁력을 갖춘 청년 창업가들로 구성됐다.

이날 행사에는 정용석 한수원 기획본부장을 비롯해 주낙영 경주시장, 이동협 경주시의회 의장 등 주요 인사들이 참석해 창업팀에 현판을 전달하고 격려의 뜻을 전했다.

참석자들은 창업 과정에서 겪는 어려움과 경험을 공유하며 청년 일자리 창출과 지속 가능한 창업 생태계 조성 방안에 대해 의견을 나눴다.

한수원은 2020년부터 경주시, 위덕대학교 산학협력단과 함께 경주 원도심인 황오동 일대에서 ‘경주 청년 新골든창업특구 조성사업’을 추진해 오고 있다.

올해 지원한 3억 원을 포함해 지금까지 총 11억5천만 원의 사업비를 투입했으며, 청년 창업가들의 안정적인 정착과 성장을 지원하고 있다.

사업을 통해 현재까지 33개 청년 창업팀이 창업에 성공했으며, 누적 매출액은 57억 원을 기록했다. 이러한 성과를 바탕으로 민·관·학 협력의 대표적인 성공 사례로 평가받고 있으며, 전국 지방자치단체와 기관들의 벤치마킹 사례로도 주목받고 있다.

선정된 창업팀에는 점포 리모델링과 기자재 구입 등에 활용할 수 있는 최대 3,500만 원의 초기 창업 지원금이 제공되며, 창업 아카데미와 전문가 멘토링 등 체계적인 사후 지원도 함께 이뤄진다.

정용석 한수원 기획본부장은 “청년들의 열정과 도전이 성공적인 창업으로 이어져 지역경제에 새로운 활력을 불어넣길 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 청년 창업가들이 안정적으로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Key figures attended the event, including KHNP Planning Division Head Jeong Yong-seok, Gyeongju Mayor Ju Nak-young, and Gyeongju City Council Chairman Lee Dong-hyeop, who presented plaques to the teams and offered words of encouragement.

Since 2020, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has been promoting the "Gyeongju Youth New Golden Startup Special Zone Development Project" in the Hwang-dong area of ​​Gyeongju's old downtown, in collaboration with Gyeongju City and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Wideok University.

Including the 300 million won allocated this year, a total of 1.15 billion won in project funds has been invested to date to support the stable settlement and growth of young entrepreneurs.
