청송군은 탄소중립포인트 에너지 제도 참여자 가운데 에너지 사용량 절감 성과를 거둔 276세대를 대상으로 총 550여만 원의 인센티브를 지난 12일 지급했다고 밝혔다.
탄소중립포인트 에너지 제도는 가정에서 사용하는 전기와 상수도, 도시가스 사용량을 줄인 실적에 따라 포인트를 제공하는 온실가스 감축 참여 프로그램이다. 기후위기 대응과 생활 속 탄소중립 실천을 목표로 전국적으로 운영되고 있다.
올해 하반기에는 청송지역 2,330세대가 해당 제도에 참여했으며, 이 가운데 819세대가 온실가스 감축 목표를 달성한 것으로 집계됐다. 참여 세대들의 평균 감축률은 21.8%에 달했으며, 이를 통해 약 140톤의 이산화탄소 배출을 줄인 것으로 분석됐다.
이번 인센티브는 기준 사용량 대비 온실가스 배출량을 5% 이상 감축한 세대를 대상으로 지급됐다. 군은 에너지 절약에 대한 보상뿐 아니라 주민들의 자발적인 환경보호 실천을 유도하는 데에도 의미가 있다고 설명했다.
윤경희 청송군수는 “탄소중립포인트 제도는 일상생활 속 작은 실천을 통해 누구나 쉽게 온실가스 감축에 동참할 수 있는 프로그램”이라며 “군민들의 지속적인 참여가 깨끗한 환경 조성과 지속가능한 미래를 만드는 원동력이 될 것”이라고 말했다.
이어 “앞으로도 기후위기 대응과 탄소중립 실현을 위한 다양한 정책을 추진해 군민들과 함께 친환경 생활문화 확산에 힘쓰겠다”고 덧붙였다.
