【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구보건대학교 한달빛공유협업센터가 지난 26일 대구광역시 장애인 희망드림센터에서 열린 ‘2026년 농아인의 날’ 기념행사에 참여해 특별한 건강나눔 부스를 운영했다.

이번 행사는 의사소통의 제약으로 평소 보건의료 서비스 이용에 어려움을 겪는 농아인들에게 실질적인 건강관리 기회를 제공하고, 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어우러지는 포용적인 환경을 만들기 위해 기획됐다.

부스 운영을 위해 대구보건대 간호학과, 치위생학과, 물리치료학과, 안경광학과, 뷰티코디네이션학과 재학생 및 교직원 30여 명으로 구성된 ‘DHC 서포터즈’가 발 벗고 나섰다. 학생들은 행사에 앞서 한국농아인협회와 협력해 개발한 ‘보건계열 직무 연계 수어 교육’ 과정을 이수하며 농아인과의 원활한 소통을 준비했다.

학과별 전공을 살린 다채로운 프로그램도 눈길을 끌었다. 간호학과는 혈압과 혈당을 측정하며 맞춤형 건강 상담을 제공했고, 치위생학과는 구강 보건 교육을 통해 올바른 칫솔질 습관을 전파했다. 물리치료학과는 관절 예방 테이핑을, 안경광학과는 시력 측정 및 안보건 교육을 진행했다. 특히 뷰티코디네이션학과의 네일케어와 타투 스티커 체험 프로그램은 참가자들에게 큰 호응을 얻으며 축제 분위기를 더했다.

황보서현 한달빛공유협업센터장은 이번 활동이 학생들이 전공 지식을 활용해 사회적 약자의 건강권을 지키는 데 기여했다는 점에서 뜻깊다고 평가했다. 이어 앞으로도 지역사회와 연계한 다양한 보건의료 활동을 확대해 학생들이 실무 역량은 물론 사회적 책임감을 갖춘 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 뒷받침하겠다고 밝혔다.

The Dalhanbit Sharing & Collaboration Center at Daegu Health College participated in the ‘2026 Deaf Awareness Day’ commemorative event held at the Daegu Hope Dream Center for the Disabled on the 26th, operating a special health sharing booth.

This event was planned to provide practical health management opportunities to deaf individuals who typically struggle to access healthcare services due to communication barriers, and to create an inclusive environment where people with and without disabilities can coexist harmoniously.

To operate the booth, the ‘DHC Supporters,’ composed of approximately 30 students and faculty members from Daegu Health College’s Departments of Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Physical Therapy, Optometry, and Beauty Coordination, stepped forward to take the lead. Prior to the event, the students prepared for smooth communication with deaf individuals by completing a ‘Healthcare Job-Linked Sign Language Education’ course developed in collaboration with the Korean Association of the Deaf.

Diverse programs utilizing the specific majors of each department also drew attention. The Department of Nursing measured blood pressure and blood sugar levels and provided personalized health consultations, while the Department of Dental Hygiene promoted proper toothbrushing habits through oral health education. The Department of Physical Therapy conducted joint prevention taping, and the Department of Optometry performed vision tests and eye health education. In particular, the nail care and temporary tattoo sticker experience programs offered by the Department of Beauty Coordination received a great response from participants, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Hwangbo Seo-hyun, Director of the Daldalbit Shared Collaboration Center, evaluated the activity as meaningful in that it allowed students to utilize their major knowledge to contribute to protecting the health rights of the socially vulnerable. She further stated that the center will continue to expand various healthcare activities in collaboration with the local community to actively support students in growing into talents equipped with not only practical skills but also a sense of social responsibility.
