【브레이크뉴스 경산】진예솔 기자=조현일 경산시장이 1일 공식 취임했다. 별도의 취임임식 대신 시청에서 열린 직원 정례조회로 임기를 시작하며, ‘현장 중심 행정’ 의지를 드러냈다. 

조 시장은 이날 충혼탑 참배 후 유공자 표창 수여식과 회사기 게양식, 그리고 지역 기업 및 복지시설 현장 방문 등으로 취임 첫날을 채웠다.

조 시장은 정례조회에서 “형식적인 행사는 생략하고 예산을 아끼겠다”며 “시민 삶과 현장에 집중하는 시정을 펼치겠다”고 밝혔고, 인수위 구성 없이 곧장 시정에 돌입했다. '중단 없는 경산 발전'을 새 운영 기조로 내세우며, 시민과의 약속을 무엇보다 중요하게 여기겠다는 뜻도 강조했다.

취임사를 통해 그는 “민선9기는 경제·산업뿐 아니라 교육, 문화, 복지 등 모든 분야에서 경산이 다시 도약하는 원년이 돼야 한다”며 “지난 민선8기의 주요 현안을 확실히 마무리하고, 한 단계 더 높은 성장을 이끌겠다”고 다짐했다.

조 시장은 미래 성장전략으로 경산5일반산업단지에 로봇 앵커기업을 유치하고, 임당유니콘파크를 중심으로 첨단 벤처 생태계를 조성하겠다고 밝혔다. 또한, 주력산업 디지털 전환, 경산~울산 고속도로 및 도시철도 연장 등 광역교통망 확충도 지속해서 추진할 계획이다.

아이 키우기 좋은 도시를 만들기 위해 연중무휴 24시간 돌봄체계와 공공 실내놀이터를 확대하고, 청년 맞춤형 일자리 창출, 경산도서관과 청소년수련관 신축 등 교육과 청년정책도 힘주어 추진하겠다고 덧붙였다.

농업 분야에서는 농기계임대사업소 확충, 외국인 계절근로자 확대, 농촌인력중개센터 활성화 등으로 농촌 경쟁력 강화를 약속했다. 문화·관광 부문에서는 현대프리미엄아울렛 연계 체류형 관광모델 개발, 국립현대미술관 분원형 수장고 유치, 문화예술회관 건립 등에 집중할 예정이다.

복지와 안전 정책에서는 생애주기별 맞춤형 복지와 돌봄 서비스를 늘리고, 재난 대응 체계도 강화해 시민 안전을 최우선에 두겠다는 방침이다.

조 시장은 “시민과의 약속을 시정 운영의 중심 가치로 삼겠다”며 “직접 현장을 챙기고, 시민만 바라보는 시정을 실천하겠다”고 거듭 강조했다. 아울러 공직자들에게도 “여러분 모두가 시장이라는 각오로, 항상 시민 편에서 목소리에 귀 기울여달라”며 현장 행정을 당부했다.
