조 청장은 취임사에서 “지난 8년간의 구정 성과를 바탕으로 남구의 새로운 100년을 준비할 것”이라며, “구민과 소통하는 현장 중심의 행정을 더욱 강화하고, 지속 가능한 도시 발전과 구민이 체감할 수 있는 변화를 이끌어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
