대구향교는 지난 1일 오전 10시 30분 존덕당(尊德堂)에서 이선하 신임 전교 취임식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이 전교의 임기는 2026년 7월부터 2029년 6월까지 3년이다.

이날 행사에는 최종수 성균관 관장을 비롯해 우종희 향교재단 이사장, 김신영 대구시 문화유산과장 등 유림 원로와 정·관계 인사, 문화계 관계자 등이 참석했다. 또한 향교 전·현직 임직원과 유림 지도자, 시민 등 500여 명이 함께해 취임식을 성황리에 지켜봤다.

행사는 성현에게 신임 전교의 취임을 고하는 고유제 봉행을 시작으로 문묘 향배, 상읍례, 취임사 및 축사 순으로 진행되며 전통 의례의 형식을 충실히 따랐다.

특히 이날에는 취임을 기념하는 파초 식수 의식이 함께 열려 눈길을 끌었다. 해당 파초는 성균관 유학 전통과 학문 계승의 의미를 상징하는 식물로, 끊임없이 새순을 내는 생명력처럼 유교 교육의 지속성과 후학 양성의 의미를 담고 있다. 행사 참석자들은 이를 통해 전통 교육의 계승 의지를 되새겼다.

이선하 전교는 경북대학교 화학과를 졸업하고 건국대학교 대학원에서 이학박사 학위를 취득한 학자로, 경운대학교 교수와 산학협력단장, 산업대학원장 등을 역임하며 교육 및 연구 분야에서 활동해 왔다.

또한 2008년부터 대구향교에서 다양한 직책을 맡아 향교 발전에 기여해 왔으며, 국무총리 표창과 교육부 장관 표창, 문화체육관광부 장관 표창 등을 수상한 바 있다.

Former Head Lee Seon-ha is a scholar who graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Kyungpook National University and obtained a Ph.D. in Science from Konkuk University Graduate School. She has been active in the fields of education and research, having served as a professor, Director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and Dean of the Graduate School of Industry at Kyungwoon University.
