경주시는 물가대책위원회의 기능과 의사결정 절차를 정비하는 내용을 담은 '경주시 물가대책위원회 설치 및 운영 조례' 일부개정안을 입법예고했다고 6일 밝혔다.

이번 개정안은 지역 물가 환경 변화에 보다 효과적으로 대응하고, 위원회 운영 과정에서 제기된 제도적 미비점을 보완하기 위해 마련됐다.

개정안에는 지방자치단체가 심의하는 요금 항목을 현재 여건에 맞게 정비하는 내용이 담겼다. 아울러 분기마다 개최하도록 규정했던 정기회의 조항을 삭제해 필요에 따라 위원회를 탄력적으로 운영할 수 있도록 했다.

위원회의 의사결정 절차도 손질한다. 기존 조례에 포함됐던 '가부동수일 경우 위원장이 결정한다'는 규정을 삭제해 의결 과정의 중립성과 공정성을 강화하고, 위원장의 권한과 직무대행 범위도 보다 명확하게 규정했다.

경주시는 이번 조례 개정을 통해 물가 변동 상황에 신속하게 대응하는 한편, 물가 안정 정책을 심의하는 위원회의 운영 효율성과 신뢰도를 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

개정안은 오는 27일까지 시민과 관계기관 등을 대상으로 의견을 수렴하며, 이후 조례규칙심의회 등 관련 절차를 거쳐 최종 확정될 예정이다.
