【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(사장 김회천)이 정부 재난관리 평가에서 3년 연속 최고 등급을 획득하며 국내 에너지 분야 최고 수준의 재난 대응 역량을 인정받았다.
한수원은 행정안전부가 주관한 ‘2026년 재난관리평가’에서 에너지 분야 우수기관으로 선정됐다고 7일 밝혔다.
재난관리평가는 행정안전부가 국가 재난 대응 역량 강화를 위해 2005년부터 매년 실시하는 제도로, 올해는 중앙부처와 지방자치단체, 공공기관 등 340개 책임기관을 대상으로 재난 예방부터 대비, 대응, 복구까지 전 과정의 관리 역량을 평가했다.
한수원은 이번 평가에서 지난해 3월 전국적으로 발생한 대형산불 당시 관계기관과 긴밀히 협력해 국민 안전 확보에 기여한 점을 비롯해 재난 대응 체계 전반에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
특히 산불 대응 과정에서 축적한 경험을 바탕으로 전사 차원의 개선 대책을 마련하고, 산불 대응 역량 강화를 위한 체계적인 관리 활동을 이어온 점이 좋은 평가로 이어졌다.
한수원은 산불 대응 매뉴얼을 새롭게 정비·운영했으며, 해당 사례는 행정안전부 주관 ‘위기관리 매뉴얼 우수사례 경진대회’에서 국무총리상을 수상하는 성과로 이어졌다.
이번 선정으로 한수원은 행정안전부 주관 재난관리 관련 주요 평가에서 3년 연속 모두 최고 등급을 기록하게 됐다. 앞서 ▲재난대응 안전한국훈련 평가 ▲국가핵심기반 보호계획 재난관리평가에서도 우수기관으로 선정된 데 이어 이번 재난관리평가까지 우수기관에 이름을 올리며 종합적인 재난 대응 역량을 입증했다.
김상우 한수원 안전경영단장은 “이번 성과는 안전을 최우선 가치로 두고 정부의 재난관리 정책을 적극적으로 이행한 결과”라며 “앞으로도 기후변화 등으로 복잡해지는 재난 환경에 선제적으로 대응하고, 안정적인 에너지 공급을 위한 재난관리 체계를 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Kim Hoe-cheon) has been recognized for its top-tier disaster response capabilities in the domestic energy sector, having earned the highest grade in the government’s disaster management evaluation for three consecutive years.
KHNP announced on the 7th that it was selected as an excellent agency in the energy sector in the ‘2026 Disaster Management Evaluation’ organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Disaster Management Evaluation is a system conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since 2005 to strengthen national disaster response capabilities. This year, the evaluation assessed the management capabilities of 340 responsible agencies, including central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions, covering the entire process from disaster prevention to preparedness, response, and recovery.
In this evaluation, KHNP received high marks for its overall disaster response system, including its contribution to ensuring public safety through close cooperation with relevant agencies during the large-scale forest fires that occurred nationwide last March. In particular, the company received a favorable evaluation for establishing company-wide improvement measures based on experience accumulated during wildfire response operations and for continuing systematic management activities to strengthen wildfire response capabilities.
KHNP newly revamped and operated its wildfire response manual, which led to the achievement of winning the Prime Minister's Award at the "Crisis Management Manual Best Practices Competition" organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
With this selection, KHNP has achieved the highest rating in all major disaster management evaluations organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for three consecutive years. Following its previous selection as an outstanding institution in the ▲Disaster Response Safety Korea Training evaluation and the ▲National Critical Infrastructure Protection Plan disaster management evaluation, KHNP has proven its comprehensive disaster response capabilities by being named an outstanding institution in this latest disaster management evaluation as well.
Kim Sang-woo, Head of KHNP's Safety Management Division, stated, "This achievement is the result of actively implementing the government's disaster management policies with safety as our top priority," adding, "We will continue to proactively respond to the increasingly complex disaster environment caused by climate change and further strengthen our disaster management system to ensure a stable energy supply."
