【브레이크뉴스 청도】진예솔 기자=청도군은 9일 서울 마포구 중소기업DMC타워에서 열린 '제21회 2026 대한민국환경대상' 시상식에서 자원순환 부문 대상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
이번 수상으로 청도군은 자원순환 부문에서 7년 연속 대상을 받았다.
청도군은 27년간 이어온 재활용품 경진대회를 비롯해 새마을 환경살리기 활동, 생활자원 회수센터 확충, 탄소중립 포인트제 운영 등 주민 참여형 자원순환 정책을 지속적으로 추진해 온 점을 높이 평가받았다.
특히 농촌지역 특성을 반영한 폐농약병과 폐비닐, 폐건전지 수거사업, 일회용품 줄이기 캠페인 등 민·관이 함께하는 환경보전 활동도 수상 배경으로 꼽혔다.
시상식에는 박권현 군수를 대신해 김동기 부군수와 전인주 청도군새마을회장, 새마을단체 관계자 등 20여 명이 참석했다.
박권현 군수는 "7년 연속 수상은 군민들의 적극적인 참여와 실천이 있었기에 가능했다"며 "앞으로도 자원순환 정책과 탄소중립 실천을 지속 확대해 지속가능한 지역사회를 만들어 나가겠다"고 말했다.
