건협 경북은 생계와 양육을 동시에 책임지느라 정기적인 건강관리가 쉽지 않은 취약가족을 위해 '메디체크 안심 건강검진' 사업을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 성평등가족부와 KH한국건강관리협회가 체결한 '미혼모부·한부모·조손가족 건강 격차 해소를 위한 건강검진 업무협약'에 따라 마련됐다. 의료서비스 이용이 상대적으로 어려운 취약계층의 건강 증진을 위해 검진 비용 전액을 지원하는 사회공헌 프로그램이다.

건강검진은 신체 계측을 비롯해 간기능, 고지혈증, 당뇨병, 신장질환, 통풍, 골밀도, 흉부 X선 촬영, 심혈관계 질환, 종양표지자, 갑상선질환 등 총 15개 분야 79개 항목으로 구성돼 전반적인 건강 상태를 종합적으로 확인할 수 있도록 했다.

지원 대상은 기준 중위소득 65% 이하의 미혼모·부와 한부모가족의 부모, 조손가족의 조부모 가운데 한부모가족증명서 발급 대상자다.

사전 예약은 지난 7월 1일부터 진행되고 있으며, 실제 검진은 오는 8월 1일부터 9월 30일까지 두 달간 실시된다. 검진을 희망하는 대상자는 한국건강관리협회 경상북도지부로 전화 예약 후 방문하면 되며, 검진 당일에는 신분증과 한부모가족증명서를 반드시 지참해야 한다.

하서진 건협 경북 본부장은 "가족을 돌보는 데 집중하느라 자신의 건강을 뒤로 미뤄왔던 분들이 이번 검진을 통해 건강 상태를 점검하고 보다 건강한 일상을 이어가길 바란다"며 "앞으로도 지역사회 건강 증진을 위한 다양한 지원사업을 지속적으로 추진해 신뢰받는 보건의료기관의 역할을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

한편 건협 경북은 메디체크어머니봉사단 운영을 비롯해 환경정화 활동, 임직원 정기기부와 헌혈 캠페인, 노인일자리 지원 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 이어오고 있다. 이러한 활동을 인정받아 2021년 처음 지역사회공헌 인정기업으로 선정된 이후 5년 연속 인증을 유지하고 있다.

KH Gyeongbuk Supports Health Checkups for Unmarried Mothers, Single-Parents, and Grandparent-Raising Families… Free Checkups to be Conducted in August and September

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Branch of the Korea Health Management Association (KH) is launching a free health checkup support program for unmarried mothers, single-parents, and grandparent-raising families who face difficulties in managing their health.

KH Gyeongbuk announced that it is operating the "Medicheck Safe Health Checkup" program for vulnerable families who find it difficult to maintain regular health care due to the simultaneous responsibility of making a living and raising children.

This initiative was established in accordance with the "Memorandum of Understanding on Health Checkups to Address Health Gaps in Unmarried Mothers, Fathers, Single-Parents, and Grandparent-Raising Families" signed between the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Health Management Association. It is a social contribution program that fully covers the cost of checkups to promote the health of vulnerable groups who face relative difficulties in accessing medical services.

The health checkup consists of 79 items across 15 categories, including physical measurements, liver function, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, kidney disease, gout, bone density, chest X-rays, cardiovascular disease, tumor markers, and thyroid disease, designed to allow for a comprehensive assessment of overall health status.

Eligibility is limited to unmarried mothers and fathers with an income at or below 65% of the median income, parents of single-parent families, and grandparents of grandparent-headed families who are eligible for a Certificate of Single-Parent Family.

Advance reservations have been accepted since July 1, and the actual checkups will be conducted for two months, from August 1 to September 30. Those wishing to receive the checkup should make a reservation by phone with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Branch of the Korea Health Management Association before visiting; on the day of the checkup, they must bring their identification card and Certificate of Single-Parent Family.

Ha Seo-jin, Head of the KHA Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters, stated, "I hope that those who have put their own health on the back burner while focusing on caring for their families will use this checkup to assess their health status and lead healthier daily lives." He added, "We will continue to pursue various support programs to promote community health and fulfill our role as a trusted healthcare institution."

Meanwhile, KHA Gyeongbuk has been carrying out diverse social contribution activities, including operating the MediCheck Mothers' Volunteer Corps, conducting environmental cleanup activities, organizing regular employee donations and blood donation campaigns, and supporting employment for the elderly. In recognition of these efforts, the organization was first selected as a "Recognized Enterprise for Community Contribution" in 2021 and has maintained the certification for five consecutive years.
