【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회가 제10대 전반기 의회 출범 이후 첫 공식 현장 일정으로 지역 주요 기관과 단체를 찾아 시민 의견을 청취하며 현장 중심 의정활동의 첫걸음을 내디뎠다.

포항시의회는 10일 지역사회 각 분야 기관·단체를 방문해 주요 현안을 공유하고 상호 협력 방안을 논의하는 현장 소통 일정을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 시민과 가까운 곳에서 활동하는 기관들의 목소리를 직접 듣고 지역 현안을 의정활동에 반영하는 한편, 의회와 지역사회 간 협력체계를 더욱 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 김철수 의장과 조민성 부의장, 각 상임위원장은 먼저 포항상공회의소를 찾아 지역경제 활성화와 기업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.

이어 노인복지회관과 대한노인회 포항시지회를 방문해 고령사회에 대응하기 위한 복지 정책과 어르신 지원 방안에 대한 다양한 의견을 청취했다.

또 학도의용군 포항시지회와 포항시자원봉사센터, 한국교통장애인협회 포항시지회, 포항시의정회를 차례로 찾아 기관 운영 현황과 건의사항을 듣고 시민 삶의 질 향상과 지역사회 발전을 위한 협력 과제에 대해 폭넓게 의견을 교환했다.

시의회는 이번 현장 방문을 통해 수렴한 의견을 향후 의정활동과 정책 검토 과정에 적극 반영하고, 시민이 체감할 수 있는 의정 성과를 만들어 나간다는 방침이다.

김철수 포항시의장은 "시민의 목소리를 직접 듣는 것이 의정활동의 가장 중요한 출발점"이라며 "현장에서 접한 다양한 의견을 정책에 충실히 반영하고, 시민 곁으로 먼저 다가가는 현장 중심 의정을 통해 시민들이 변화를 체감할 수 있는 의회를 만들어 가겠다"고 말했다.

한편 포항시의회는 이번 일정을 시작으로 경찰과 소방, 사법기관, 보훈단체 등 주요 유관기관을 순차적으로 방문해 시민 안전과 지역 발전을 위한 협력체계를 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Meanwhile, starting with this schedule, the Pohang City Council plans to sequentially visit key related agencies, including the police, fire department, judicial institutions, and veterans' organizations, to continuously expand the cooperative system for citizen safety and regional development.
