바르게살기운동 의성군협의회 청년회는 지난 8일 의성군청 광장에서 '당신에게는 설렘을, 누군가에게는 생명을'을 주제로 헌혈 및 헌혈증 기부 캠페인을 실시했다.

이번 행사는 헌혈 참여를 통해 생명의 소중함을 알리고, 회원들이 기부한 헌혈증을 소아암과 백혈병으로 치료 중인 어린이들에게 전달하기 위해 마련됐다. 청년회는 2020년부터 매년 이 같은 생명나눔 활동을 이어오고 있다.

이날 회원들은 헌혈에 직접 참여하는 한편 헌혈증 기부에도 동참했다. 모아진 헌혈증은 바르게살기운동 경상북도협의회가 추진하는 생명나눔 사업을 통해 도내 시·군협의회에서 모은 헌혈증과 함께 한국백혈병소아암협회에 전달돼 환아들의 치료와 수혈 지원에 활용될 예정이다.

김근수 청년회장은 "헌혈은 생명을 살리는 가장 의미 있는 나눔이며, 헌혈증 기부는 치료를 받고 있는 아이들에게 희망을 전하는 실천"이라며 "앞으로도 생명나눔 문화가 확산될 수 있도록 지속적으로 참여하겠다"고 말했다.

같은 날 의성군새마을회도 의성군새마을회관에서 회원들이 함께하는 단체 헌혈 캠페인을 열고 혈액 수급 안정과 생명존중 문화 확산에 동참했다.

회원들은 단체 헌혈과 헌혈증 기부에 참여하며 공동체 나눔을 실천했으며, 조직적인 참여를 통해 생명나눔 문화 확산의 의미를 더했다.

의성군새마을회는 환경정화와 자원재활용, 사랑의 김장 나눔, 취약계층 지원 등 다양한 봉사활동을 꾸준히 이어오고 있으며, 앞으로도 지역사회와 함께하는 사회공헌 활동을 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

박희용 의성군새마을회장은 "회원들이 함께 참여하는 헌혈은 생명나눔의 가치를 실천하는 뜻깊은 봉사활동"이라며 "앞으로도 다양한 나눔과 봉사활동을 통해 지역사회에 도움이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.

최유철 의성군수는 "매년 헌혈과 헌혈증 기부에 적극 참여해 생명존중 문화를 실천하고 있는 바르게살기운동 의성군협의회와 의성군새마을회 회원들에게 감사드린다"며 "자발적인 나눔과 봉사가 지역사회에 따뜻한 공동체 문화를 확산시키는 밑거름이 되길 기대한다"고 말했다.
