경주시는 2026년도 제1회 추가경정예산안을 시의회에 제출했다고 14일 밝혔다. 이번 예산안은 경기 침체에 대응한 민생 지원과 생활밀착형 사업 확대에 초점을 맞췄다.
추경안이 시의회를 통과하면 경주시의 올해 총예산은 당초 2조1,000억원에서 2조3,250억원으로 증가한다. 회계별로는 일반회계가 1조9,790억원으로 1,950억원 늘어나고, 특별회계는 3,460억원으로 300억원 증액된다.
예산안에는 지역 소비 진작과 소상공인 지원을 위한 사업이 대거 포함됐다. 고유가 피해지원금 314억원과 지역사랑상품권 발행 지원 104억원을 반영해 지역 내 소비 활성화를 유도하고, 소상공인 특례보증 이차보전 사업에 10억원을 투입해 금융 부담 완화를 지원한다. 또한 중소기업 운전자금 지원과 산업단지 기반시설 정비 예산도 함께 편성해 기업 경영 여건 개선을 뒷받침할 계획이다.
도로와 기반시설 확충 사업도 주요 편성 대상이다. 동국대학교~현곡 상구간 도로 개설에 23억원, 천북 동산교~면소재지 간 도로 확·포장공사에 20억원, 보문~구정 간 도로 개설에 5억원을 각각 배정했다. 이 밖에도 도시계획도로와 농어촌도로 정비, 주민숙원사업, 하천 정비, 공공체육시설 확충 등을 통해 교통 환경과 정주 여건 개선을 추진한다.
문화·관광 경쟁력 강화를 위한 투자도 이어진다. POST APEC 기념관 조성 사업에 25억원을 비롯해 경주읍성 성벽 복원 15억원, 인왕동사지 석탑 복원 15억원, 흥륜사지 발굴조사 10억원 등을 편성해 역사문화유산 보존과 관광자원 활용 기반을 확대한다.
복지 분야에는 안강읍 주민복지시설 건립과 보훈명예수당 및 참전명예수당 지원, 사회복지관 운영, 아이행복키움센터 설치 등에 총 85억원을 반영했다. 이를 통해 국가유공자 지원을 강화하고 복지서비스 접근성을 높인다는 계획이다.
이번 추경안에는 시민 소통간담회 등을 통해 접수된 생활밀착형 건의사업도 다수 포함됐다. 시는 시민 불편 해소와 지역 현안 해결에 필요한 사업을 중심으로 예산을 편성해 주민 체감도를 높인다는 방침이다.
