【브레이크뉴스 의성】이성현 기자=의성군이 지역 농산물 소비 확대와 식품산업 경쟁력 강화를 위해 쌀 가공식품 전문기업의 생산시설 확장 투자 유치에 나섰다.
의성군은 지난 20일 ㈜소담푸드와 식품 제조공장 이전 및 신·증설을 위한 투자 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
㈜소담푸드는 2013년 설립된 누룽지 전문 식품 제조업체로, 누룽지를 비롯한 다양한 쌀 가공식품을 생산하고 있다. 국내 대형 유통망에 제품을 공급하는 것은 물론 해외시장으로도 판로를 확대하며 사업을 성장시키고 있다.
협약에 따라 ㈜소담푸드는 단밀농공단지 내 약 6천㎡ 부지에 오는 2028년까지 총 55억 원을 투자해 누룽지와 쌀 가공식품 생산시설을 신·증설할 계획이다. 이와 함께 생산 규모 확대에 맞춰 최대 19명의 신규 인력도 채용할 예정이다.
이번 투자는 의성에서 생산되는 쌀을 비롯한 지역 농산물을 주요 원료로 활용하는 방식으로 추진돼 지역 농산물 소비 확대와 안정적인 판로 확보, 농가 소득 증대에도 긍정적인 효과를 가져올 것으로 기대된다.
의성군은 기업의 원활한 투자와 공장 운영을 지원하는 한편, 지역 농업과 식품산업이 함께 성장하는 기반을 마련하는 데 행정력을 집중할 방침이다.
최유철 의성군수는 “의성의 대표 농산물인 쌀을 활용한 식품 생산기업이 지역에 투자를 결정한 것을 뜻깊게 생각한다”며 “기업이 안정적으로 성장하고 투자가 차질 없이 진행될 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다

Uiseong County announced on the 20th that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sodam Food Co., Ltd. regarding the relocation and new construction/expansion of a food manufacturing plant.
Established in 2013, Sodam Food is a food manufacturer specializing in scorched rice (nurungji), producing a variety of rice processing products including nurungji. The company is growing its business by supplying products to major domestic distribution networks as well as expanding its sales channels into overseas markets.
Under the agreement, Sodam Food plans to invest a total of 5.5 billion won by 2028 to build and expand production facilities for nurungji and rice processing on a site of approximately 6,000 square meters within the Danmil Agricultural and Industrial Complex. Along with this, the company plans to hire up to 19 new employees to accommodate the expanded production scale.
This investment is being pursued by utilizing local agricultural products, including rice produced in Uiseong, as primary raw materials. It is expected to have a positive effect on expanding the consumption of local produce, securing stable sales channels, and increasing farm income.
Uiseong County plans to concentrate its administrative efforts on supporting the company's smooth investment and factory operations, while also laying the foundation for the joint growth of local agriculture and the food industry.
Uiseong County Governor Choi Yu-cheol stated, "I consider it significant that a food production company utilizing rice, Uiseong's representative agricultural product, has decided to invest in the region." He added, "We will spare no continuous support to ensure the company grows stably and the investment proceeds without any setbacks."
