【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구 관음동에서 주민들이 주도해 설립한 행복관음 마을관리 사회적협동조합이 대구시 예비사회적기업으로 선정됐다.

22일 북구청에 따르면, 행복관음 마을관리 사회적협동조합은 지난해 한국사회적기업진흥원의 사회적기업 창업지원사업에 뽑힌 데 이어, 올해는 2026년 대구시 예비사회적기업으로도 지정받게 됐다.

행복관음 마을관리 사회적협동조합은 관음동 도시재생사업에서 출발한 주민조직이다. 이곳은 반려동물 산업과 도시재생을 접목한 지역 특화사업을 꾸준히 추진해 오고 있다. 현재는 관음동물사랑교육센터를 운영 중이며, 앞으로 2028년 관음더하모니센터가 들어서면 사람과 동물, 환경이 공존하는 ‘원 헬스’ 개념을 도입해 지역 순환형 사회적경제 모델을 본격적으로 선보일 예정이다.

예비사회적기업 지정으로 조합은 앞으로 인증 사회적기업으로 가는 발판을 마련했다. 동시에 자금 지원과 컨설팅, 판로 개척 등 다양한 공공 및 민간 지원도 받을 수 있게 됐다. 이를 통해 반려동물 돌봄과 교육, 체험, 관광을 연계한 사업을 넓히고, 지역 일자리 창출에도 힘을 쏟을 계획이다.

예비사회적기업은 사회적기업으로 정식 인증받기 전, 일정 기간 사회적 가치를 확인받고 성장 기회를 지원받는 제도다.

장명선 조합 이사장은 “이번 예비사회적기업 지정은 주민이 함께 힘을 모은 도시재생의 성과를 사회적경제로 확장하는 뜻깊은 첫걸음”이라며 “앞으로도 지역 일자리와 반려동물 문화 확산에 꾸준히 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.

이근수 북구청장도 “주민들의 적극적인 노력이 예비사회적기업 지정이라는 값진 결실로 이어졌다”며 “반려동물 산업과 연계한 지속가능한 도시재생 모델이 지역에 잘 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 행정적·정책적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.

행복관음 마을관리 사회적협동조합은 앞으로도 지역 내 여러 기관과 협력해 사업 모델을 더욱 강화하고 사회적경제 네트워크를 넓힐 예정이다. 주민들이 직접 참여하는 일자리 창출과 지역 활성화를 위한 각종 사업도 꾸준히 추진할 방침이다.

Lee Geun-su, Head of Buk-gu District Office, also remarked, "The active efforts of the residents have led to the valuable fruition of this Preliminary Social Enterprise designation," and stated, "We will spare no administrative or policy support to ensure that a sustainable urban regeneration model linked to the pet industry takes root in the region."

The Haengbok Gwaneum Village Management Social Cooperative plans to further strengthen its business model and expand its social economy network by collaborating with various local institutions.
