대구 중구에 따르면, 이번 평가는 전국 250개 지역자활센터를 대상으로 자활근로 참여자 증감률, 자산형성 지원, 자활근로사업 수익금 매출 증가폭 등 주요 지표를 바탕으로 진행됐다. 대구중구지역자활센터는 이 가운데 우수한 성적을 기록하며, 전국 상위 40%에 해당하는 100개 기관 명단에 이름을 올렸다.

현재 대구중구지역자활센터는 5개 자활기업과 13개 자활근로사업단을 운영하며, 저소득층의 자립 지원과 안정적인 일자리 창출에 힘쓰고 있다.

특히 올해는 반려동물 산업의 성장 흐름에 맞춰, 전국 지역자활센터 가운데 처음으로 반려동물보호사업단을 신설했다. 명덕로 33에 문을 연 ‘공간페로 강아지유치원·호텔 대구점’은 반려동물 돌봄, 유치원, 호텔 등 다양한 서비스를 제공한다. 이 사업을 통해 자활 참여자들에게 새로운 일자리를 마련하며 자활사업의 영역도 한층 넓혔다.

센터는 이번 우수기관 선정으로 보건복지부로부터 인센티브를 지원받게 된다. 해당 인센티브는 자활사업 활성화와 참여자 자립역량 강화를 위한 교육·훈련, 신규 사업 발굴 등에 적극적으로 활용할 계획이다.

류규하 중구청장은 “이번 우수기관 선정은 센터 직원과 자활 참여자 모두가 함께 이뤄낸 성과”라며 “앞으로도 저소득 주민들의 안정적인 자립을 위해 양질의 일자리와 맞춤형 자활서비스를 계속해서 확대하겠다”고 말했다.

Through this initiative, the center has created new job opportunities for participants in the self-reliance program and has further expanded the scope of the program.

As a result of being selected as an outstanding institution, the center will receive incentives from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The center plans to actively utilize these incentives for the revitalization of the self-reliance program, education and training to strengthen participants' self-sufficiency capabilities, and the development of new projects.

Jung-gu Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha stated, “This selection as an outstanding institution is an achievement accomplished together by both the center’s staff and the participants in the self-reliance program,” adding, “We will continue to expand high-quality jobs and customized self-reliance services to ensure the stable independence of low-income residents.”
