【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=더불어민주당 대구시당위원장 선거에 김보경 전 달성군의회 의원이 공식 출마를 선언하고, 당원 중심의 시당 운영과 대구‧경북 정치력 강화를 주요 비전으로 내세웠다. 김 후보는 22일 대구시당에서 기자회견을 열고 “당원이 존중받고 성장하는 민주당, 당원이 자랑스러워할 대구민주당을 만들겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.  

이날 김 후보는 △당원 주체의 시당 운영 △대구‧경북 몫 비례대표 안정권 배치를 위한 당헌‧당규 개정 추진 △대구민주연구원 설립과 청년‧여성 정치인 육성 △‘머무르는 민주당’ 사업 추진 △대구민주포럼 운영 △지역위원회 활성화 △우수 지방의원 인센티브 시스템 구축 등 7대 공약을 발표했다. 

특히 그는 시당위원장에게 주어진 지명직 상무위원 권한을 적극 활용해 권리당원의 시당 운영 참여 폭을 넓히겠다는 뜻을 전했다. 또, 신입당원 환영 프로그램 ‘수줍당’의 부활과 당원 동아리 지원, 문화예술제와 체육대회, 정책페스티벌 등을 통해 당원이 진정 주인공이 되는 시당을 만들겠다고 약속했다.

비례대표와 관련해서는 “취약지역 비례대표 배정을 제도화하도록 당헌·당규를 개정하겠다”며 “대구와 경북에 각각 2명의 비례대표를 두는 것이 필요하다고 본다”고 설명했다. 김 후보는 “대구‧경북에서 민주당이 힘을 키워야 진정한 전국정당이 될 수 있다”며 “지역의 목소리가 중앙정치에 제대로 반영될 수 있도록 통로를 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

우수 지방의원 인센티브 공약에 대해서는 “열심히 의정활동을 해도 제대로 평가받지 못하는 경우가 많다”며 “우수 의원들에게 홍보 지원 등 다양한 인센티브를 제공하고, 시당 차원의 정책 지원 체계를 계속 구축하겠다”고 밝혔다.

또한 “대구 민주당은 선거철만 시민을 찾는 정당이라는 평가에서 벗어나야 한다”며 “평상시에도 시민과 늘 함께하는 정당으로 거듭나겠다”고 강조했다.

달성군에서 자신과 박형룡 후보가 동시에 출마해 표 분산 우려가 있다는 질문에는 “각 후보마다 강점과 약점이 있기 때문에, 당원들이 변화를 이끌 적임자를 현명하게 선택할 것이라 믿는다”고 답했다.

마지막으로 김 후보는 “좋은 리더는 앞에서 박수를 받는 사람이 아니라, 동료의 성장을 이끄는 사람”이라며 “대구민주당의 얼굴이 아니라 뿌리로서 든든한 기반이 되겠다”고 다짐했다. 그는 또 “임기 마지막에 ‘대구민주당이 달라졌다, 이 당이 자랑스럽다’는 말을 당원들에게 듣고 싶다”며 지지를 호소했다.

Regarding proportional representation, he explained, "I will amend the party constitution and regulations to institutionalize the allocation of proportional representatives to vulnerable regions," adding, "I believe it is necessary to allocate two proportional representatives each to Daegu and Gyeongbuk." Candidate Kim emphasized, "The Democratic Party must strengthen its power in Daegu and Gyeongbuk to become a true national party," and stated, "I will create channels so that the voices of the region can be properly reflected in central politics."

Regarding his pledge to provide incentives for outstanding local council members, he noted, "There are many cases where they are not properly evaluated despite working hard in their legislative activities," and stated, "I will provide various incentives, such as promotional support, to outstanding council members and continue to build a policy support system at the city party level."

He also emphasized, “The Daegu Democratic Party must shed the perception that it is a party that only seeks out citizens during election season,” adding, “We will be reborn as a party that is always with the citizens, even in normal times.”

When asked about concerns regarding vote splitting due to his and Candidate Park Hyeong-ryong running simultaneously in Dalseong-gun, he replied, “Since each candidate has their strengths and weaknesses, I trust that party members will wisely choose the right person to lead the change.”

Finally, Candidate Kim pledged, “A good leader is not someone who receives applause from the front, but someone who leads the growth of their colleagues,” and vowed, “I will become a solid foundation as the root of the Daegu Democratic Party, not just its face.” He further appealed for support, stating, “I want to hear party members say, ‘The Daegu Democratic Party has changed, and I am proud of this party,’ at the end of my term.”
