【브레이크뉴스 영주】이성현 기자=영주시가 농촌 돌봄서비스 프로그램에 참여한 학교 밖 청소년들의 사회참여와 자립 역량 강화를 위한 일일카페 행사를 열었다.

시는 지난 27일 청소년문화의집 제2관 앞 주차장에서 '씨앗부터 플라워카페까지'를 주제로 일일카페를 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 농림축산식품부 공모사업인 '2026년도 농촌 돌봄서비스 활성화 지원사업'의 일환으로 마련됐으며, 교육 프로그램의 성과를 지역사회와 공유하고 참여 청소년들이 현장 경험을 쌓을 수 있도록 기획됐다.

행사는 농업회사법인 새오름(원예치유원더가든)과 영주시학교밖청소년지원센터(꿈드림)가 공동으로 추진했다. 프로그램에 참여한 학교 밖 청소년들은 바리스타와 카페 운영 역할을 맡아 직접 음료를 만들고 시민들을 응대하며 실무 경험을 쌓았다.

행사장에서는 청소년들이 준비한 다양한 음료와 함께 원예·공예 프로그램을 통해 제작한 화분, 압화 컵받침, 석고 방향제 등이 전시·판매됐다. 음료와 작품은 자율기부 방식으로 운영됐으며, 행사 수익금은 지역사회를 위한 기부금으로 사용할 예정이다.

영주시는 이번 행사가 교육 과정에서 익힌 기술을 실제 현장에서 활용하고 시민들과 교류하는 기회를 제공하는 동시에, 학교 밖 청소년들의 자립 역량을 높이는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

정희수 영주시농업기술센터 소장은 "참여자들이 교육을 통해 익힌 역량을 직접 발휘하고 지역사회와 소통할 수 있었던 의미 있는 행사였다"며 "프로그램 운영에 함께한 농업회사법인 새오름과 영주시학교밖청소년지원센터, 행사에 참여한 시민들에게 감사드린다"고 말했다.

이어 "앞으로도 농촌 돌봄서비스 활성화 지원사업을 통해 취약계층의 자립과 사회참여를 지원하는 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 추진하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

한편 영주시는 농림축산식품부 공모사업을 통해 지역 내 농업법인 3곳과 함께 농촌 돌봄농장을 운영하며, 농업을 활용한 돌봄·치유·교육 프로그램을 추진하고 있다.

Yeongju City Operates ‘One-Day Cafe’ for Out-of-School Youth to Share Achievements of Rural Care Services

Yeongju City held a one-day cafe event to enhance the social participation and self-reliance capabilities of out-of-school youth participating in the rural care service program.

The city announced that it operated the one-day cafe on the 27th at the parking lot in front of the Youth Culture Center Building 2 under the theme "From Seeds to Flower Cafe."

This event was organized as part of the "2026 Rural Care Service Activation Support Project," a public contest project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. It was designed to share the achievements of the educational program with the local community and allow participating youth to gain hands-on experience.

The event was jointly promoted by the agricultural corporation Saeoreum (Horticultural Therapy Wonder Garden) and the Yeongju Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Dream). Out-of-school youth participating in the program took on the roles of baristas and cafe operators, gaining practical experience by making beverages and serving citizens.

At the event venue, various beverages prepared by the youth were displayed and sold, along with items created through gardening and craft programs, such as flower pots, pressed flower coasters, and plaster air fresheners. The beverages and artworks were sold on a voluntary donation basis, and the proceeds from the event are planned to be used as donations for the local community.

Yeongju City expects this event to serve as an opportunity to enhance the self-reliance capabilities of out-of-school youth, while providing a chance to apply the skills learned during the training to real-world situations and interact with citizens.

Jeong Hee-su, Director of the Yeongju Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "It was a meaningful event where participants could directly demonstrate the skills they acquired through training and communicate with the local community." He added, "I would like to thank Saeoreum Agricultural Corporation, the Yeongju Support Center for Out-of-School Youth, and the citizens who participated in the event for their collaboration in operating the program."

He further added, "We will continue to promote various programs that support the self-reliance and social participation of vulnerable groups through the Rural Care Service Activation Support Project." Meanwhile, Yeongju City is operating a rural care farm in collaboration with three local agricultural corporations through a public competition project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and is promoting care, healing, and education programs utilizing agriculture.
