【브레이크뉴스 경산】진예솔 기자=경북 경산시가 철도관광 활성화를 위해 체류형 관광객을 대상으로 한 지원금 사업을 실시한다. 시는 관외에서 철도를 이용해 경산을 방문하는 관광객들에게 교통비, 체험비, 숙박비 일부를 지원해 여행 부담을 덜고 체류 시간을 늘리겠다는 계획이다.

경산시는 2026년까지 예산 소진 시까지 ‘철도관광 지원금 지원사업’을 운영한다고 16일 밝혔다. 올해 사업비는 1천만원으로, 약 100~120명의 관광객을 지원할 방침이다.

지원 대상은 경산 외 지역에 거주하면서 철도를 통해 경산에 여행 오는 관광객이다. 철도 요금과 관광지 체험료 등 실제 사용 금액의 50% 한도 내에서 1인 최대 5만원까지 지원받을 수 있다. 숙박비 역시 사용 금액의 50% 범위 내에서 별도로 1인 최대 3만원까지 지원한다.

신청을 원한다면, 철도 승차권의 출발지와 목적지가 모두 ‘경산’으로 표시돼 있어야 한다. 식비의 경우, 경산 지역 음식점에서 매장 식사한 경우에 한해 인정된다.

지원금 신청 절차는 두 단계로 진행된다. 우선 여행 전 사전신청서를 이메일로 제출하고, 여행을 마친 이후 14일 이내에 지급신청서, 철도 승차권, 영수증 등 증빙 서류를 방문 또는 등기우편으로 제출하면 된다. 서류 심사를 통과하면 다음 달 초에 신청 계좌로 지원금이 지급된다.

다만 증빙 서류를 제출하지 않거나, 방문 목적이 관광이 아닐 경우, 혹은 승차권 요건을 맞추지 못할 경우에는 대상에서 제외된다.

경산시는 이번 사업을 계기로 경산의 갓바위, 반곡지, 동의한방촌, 치유의 숲 등 주요 관광 자원과 철도망을 연계해 체류형 관광을 확대하고, 지역 내 소비를 촉진할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

시 관계자는 “대경선 개통으로 경산 접근성이 획기적으로 좋아진 만큼, 철도관광이 지역에 머물며 소비하는 체류형 관광으로 이어질 수 있도록 다양한 지원 정책을 계속 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

However, applicants will be excluded if they fail to submit supporting documents, if the purpose of their visit is not tourism, or if they do not meet the ticket requirements.

Gyeongsan City expects that this project will serve as an opportunity to expand stay-type tourism and boost local consumption by linking the railway network with major tourist resources in Gyeongsan, such as Gatbawi Rock, Bangokji Pond, Dongui Hanbang Village, and the Healing Forest.

A city official stated, "As accessibility to Gyeongsan has dramatically improved with the opening of the Daegyeong Line, we will continue to implement various support policies to ensure that railway tourism leads to stay-type tourism where visitors stay and spend within the region."
