영천시는 지난 5일 교대1,2리 경로당을 방문해 지역 어르신 35여 명을 대상으로 '통합돌봄 및 방문의료지원사업'에 대한 설명회를 개최했다. 이번 활동은 의료 혜택에서 소외되기 쉬운 사각지대를 방지하고, 지원이 필요한 주민들이 제때 돌봄 서비스를 신청·이용할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 마련됐다.
통합돌봄 추진과 발맞춰 도입된 방문의료지원사업은 의사와 간호사, 사회복지사로 구성된 전문 재택의료팀이 대상을 직접 찾아가는 서비스다. 가정을 방문해 단순 진료는 물론 간호, 돌봄 연계까지 종합적인 보건·복지 솔루션을 통합 제공하는 것이 특징이다.
현재 영천 지역 내 의원 1곳과 한의원 2곳이 사업에 동참하고 있으며, 시는 이용자들의 경제적 부담을 덜어주기 위해 본인부담금을 최대 20%까지 정액 지원하는 등 진료 문턱을 낮추는 지원책을 병행하고 있다.
박선희 영천시 보건소장은 "방문의료 서비스가 활성화되면 지역 내 고령자와 장애인의 전반적인 삶의 질이 크게 개선될 것"이라며 "앞으로도 소외되는 시민 없이 모두가 건강한 일상을 누릴 수 있도록 맞춤형 보건 복지를 지속 강화하겠다"고 말했다.
