【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북대학교 약학대학이 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스와 손을 잡고 약학·생명바이오 분야의 공동연구와 인재양성에 힘을 합친다.

경북대 약학대학은 지난 12일 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스와 업무 협약을 맺고, 두 기관의 연구 역량과 자원을 공유하기로 했다. 앞으로 공동연구와 교육 프로그램, 인적 교류 등 다양한 협력 사업을 추진할 계획이다.

이번 협약에 따라 두 기관은 약학과 생명·바이오 분야에서 공동 연구 프로젝트를 발굴하고, 교육 프로그램 및 학술 교류를 확대한다. 또, 미래 산업을 이끌 우수 인재 양성에 함께 나서기로 했다.

협약식 직후에는 국제 공동 심포지엄도 열렸다. 'AI 기반 대학 간 연구·교육의 첫걸음'을 주제로 열린 이날 심포지엄에서는 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스의 요리스 반케르샤베르 교수, 겐트대 필립 핸드릭스 교수, 경북대 약학과 류주희 교수, 영국 노팅엄대 김동현 교수 등이 참여해 최근 인공지능을 활용한 대학 간 공동 연구와 교육 모델, 최신 연구 성과를 발표했다.

발표자들은 인공지능 시대의 연구 협력 방향과 교육 모델, 그리고 관련 분야의 최신 동향을 공유하며 앞으로 두 기관의 공동연구와 교류 확대 가능성에 대해 의견을 나눴다.

권진원 경북대 약학대학장은 “이번 협약을 통해 두 기관이 전문성을 바탕으로 공동연구와 인재 양성의 기틀을 마련했다”며 “지속적인 학술 교류와 공동연구를 통해 실질적인 성과를 내고, 미래 약학·바이오 분야를 이끌 인재를 함께 길러가겠다”고 말했다.

Kyungpook National University College of Pharmacy is joining hands with Ghent University Global Campus to collaborate on joint research and talent development in the fields of pharmacy and life sciences/biotechnology.

On the 12th, Kyungpook National University College of Pharmacy signed a memorandum of understanding with Ghent University Global Campus, agreeing to share the research capabilities and resources of both institutions. Moving forward, they plan to pursue various cooperative projects, including joint research, educational programs, and personnel exchanges.

An international joint symposium was held immediately following the signing ceremony. At the symposium held under the theme "The First Step in AI-Based Inter-University Research and Education," Professor Joris Vankerchabert of Ghent University Global Campus, Professor Philip Hendricks of Ghent University, Professor Ryu Ju-hee of the Department of Pharmacy at Kyungpook National University, and Professor Kim Dong-hyun of the University of Nottingham in the UK participated to present recent inter-university joint research and education models utilizing artificial intelligence, as well as the latest research achievements.

The presenters shared directions for research cooperation and education models in the era of AI, as well as the latest trends in related fields, and exchanged views on the potential to expand joint research and exchanges between the two institutions in the future.

Kwon Jin-won, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Kyungpook National University, stated, "Through this agreement, the two institutions have laid the foundation for joint research and talent cultivation based on their expertise." He added, "We will produce tangible results through continuous academic exchange and joint research, and together nurture talent to lead the future fields of pharmacy and biotechnology."
