Daegu Hanyeong University has unveiled a field-oriented healing industry education program that actively links local resources in Cheongdo, including agriculture, tourism, culture, and health and welfare. It is a practical program designed to allow participants to directly identify problems and propose solutions in the local field.

The Department of Healing Industry at Daegu Hanyeong University announced that it held a performance presentation and feedback session on the 10th for the "Program for Cultivating Future Convergence Healing Professionals Linked to Cheongdo's Specialized Industries."

This program was organized as part of the university's advanced course under the Kirin Challenge Semester. Twenty-four adult learners participated, conducting practical training in Cheongdo for a total of 12 days and 8 nights from the 4th to the 27th of last month. The students investigated various local resources—such as agriculture, tourism, culture, and health and welfare—and dedicated themselves to projects that integrated these resources into the healing industry.

Participants directly experienced the entire process, from identifying local problems and designing solutions to applying them in the field and analyzing the results. Through this process, three practical healing industry models were also derived.

Team 1 proposed a stay-type healing tourism model utilizing smart farms, drones, and video content. Team 2 developed an integrated program combining sports, sound, and meditation for cancer survivors and verified its effectiveness using AI brainwave measurements. Team 3 developed and implemented an age-friendly healing welfare model that reflects the characteristics of Cheongdo's elderly population.

This training is highly significant in that it connected region-specific resources with data-driven technology and industrial content. In particular, it confirmed the potential of a regional innovation-type education model where the university and the local community jointly identify problems and discuss solutions.

Kwon Ki-chan, Head of the Department of Healing Industry, stated, "This course demonstrated that specialized university education can lead to the resolution of actual local problems and the creation of new industries," adding, "We will continue to strive to cultivate talent to lead the healing industry through field-linked education."
