김민석 대표는 “경북은 국난 때마다 앞장서 온 애국충절의 고장이며, 특히 안동은 일제강점기 의병과 독립유공자를 가장 먼저, 가장 많이 배출한 지역”이라면서 “이재명 대통령의 고향인 안동 최고위 개최가 뜻깊다. 경북 현안 해결에 당이 모든 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

오중기 도당위원장도 연이은 산불과 가뭄, 집중호우 등 재난으로 어려움을 겪는 경북 상황을 알리며, 중앙당의 실질적인 지원이 절실하다고 호소했다. 오 위원장은 “지난해 안동·의성·청송·영양·영덕 등 5개 시군에서 대형 산불 피해가 채 회복되지도 않은 가운데 또다시 가뭄과 호우로 힘든 상황”이라며 “이번 지도부 방문을 계기로 단비 같은 지원이 이어지길 기대한다”고 말했다.
