포항시는 1일 장량동 행정복지센터에서 박용선 포항시장과 도·시의원, 지역 주민, 관계 공무원 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘민선9기 공감소통 간담회’를 열었다.

이번 간담회는 박용선 시장이 민선9기 시정 운영 방향을 시민들에게 직접 설명하고 지역 현안을 비롯한 주민들의 다양한 의견을 듣기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 장량동을 시작으로 29개 읍면동을 순회하는 첫 소통 일정이라는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

간담회는 일방적인 시정 설명을 줄이고 주민 의견 청취에 초점을 맞춰 진행됐다. 주민들이 일상에서 겪는 불편과 지역 현안, 발전 방안 등에 대해 자유롭게 의견을 제시하면 박 시장과 관련 부서장이 현장에서 답변하는 방식으로 소통의 실효성을 높였다.

참석자들은 장량동의 주요 현안과 생활밀착형 민원 등에 대한 의견을 전달했으며, 시정에 주민들의 목소리를 적극 반영할 수 있는 방안도 함께 논의했다.

박용선 포항시장은 “민선9기 시정은 시민들의 삶이 있는 현장에서 출발해야 하며, 시정의 중심 역시 시민”이라며 “장량동에서 시작한 소통을 29개 읍면동 전체로 확대해 시민들의 목소리를 더욱 가까이에서 듣겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “주민들이 전달해 주신 의견이 실제 생활 속 변화와 성과로 이어질 수 있도록 하나하나 책임 있게 살피겠다”고 강조했다.

포항시는 앞으로 각 읍면동을 차례로 찾아 주민들과 직접 대화하는 공감소통 간담회를 지속한다. 지역별 현안과 생활민원을 현장에서 확인하고 해결 방안을 함께 모색해 시민 중심의 소통 행정을 강화한다는 계획이다.
