영주시는 4일 서울 SBS 프리즘타워에서 열린 제2회 SBS·행정안전부 ‘고향사랑기부대상’ 시상식에서 대상과 농림축산식품부장관상을 잇달아 수상했다고 밝혔다.

‘고향사랑기부대상’은 SBS와 행정안전부가 공동으로 마련한 시상 제도로, 고향사랑기부제의 활성화와 건전한 기부문화 조성에 기여한 지방자치단체 등의 우수사례를 발굴하고 확산하기 위해 운영되고 있다.

영주시는 이번 평가에서 대상과 농식품부장관상을 함께 받으며 2개 부문에서 수상하는 성과를 거뒀다. 지역 특색을 살린 답례품을 발굴하고 기부 참여를 확대하기 위한 홍보 활동을 이어온 점 등이 좋은 평가로 이어졌다는 설명이다.

그동안 영주시는 기부자들이 지역의 특성과 매력을 접할 수 있도록 지역 농특산물 등을 활용한 다양한 답례품을 마련해 왔다. 아울러 고향사랑기부금이 지역사회에 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있도록 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 기금사업을 발굴하는 데에도 힘을 기울였다.

이번 수상은 이러한 정책 추진 성과를 대외적으로 인정받았다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 시는 앞으로도 기부자의 관심이 지역 발전으로 연결될 수 있도록 답례품과 기금사업을 지속적으로 발굴하고 제도 운영의 내실을 높여갈 방침이다.

황병직 영주시장은 “이번 수상은 영주를 응원하는 마음으로 고향사랑기부에 참여해 주신 기부자들과 시민들이 함께 만들어낸 결과”라며 “지역을 향한 따뜻한 마음에 감사드린다”고 말했다.

이어 “기부자들의 소중한 뜻이 지역의 실질적인 변화로 이어질 수 있도록 고향사랑기금을 내실 있게 운용하겠다”며 “영주만의 경쟁력을 담은 답례품과 지역에 필요한 기금사업을 꾸준히 발굴해 고향사랑기부제가 지역에 새로운 활력을 더하는 제도로 자리 잡도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 이날 시상식은 SBS 뉴스 유튜브를 통해 생중계됐으며, 관련 방송은 오는 17일 오전 11시 SBS TV에서 방영될 예정이다.

고향사랑기부제는 개인이 자신의 주민등록상 주소지를 제외한 지방자치단체에 기부할 수 있도록 한 제도다. 연간 기부 한도는 2,000만 원이며, 10만 원까지는 전액 세액공제 혜택이 적용된다. 기부자는 기부금의 30% 범위에서 해당 지역의 특산품 등 답례품도 받을 수 있다.

The annual donation limit is 20 million won, and full tax deductions apply to donations up to 100,000 won.
